We Still Didn’t Start the Fire Lyrics by Bruce Fine

I love Billy Joel’s original version of “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” and now comedian Bruce Fine has created a new 2010 version. Watching this made me cry – what a crazy world!
Here are the lyrics to Bruce’s song:
We Still Didn’t Start the Fire
Bruce Fine
Rhianna, recession, Facebook obsession
Yankee’s win, Tiger’s sin, Kim Kardashian
Stimulus, Apollo, Jonas Brothers, Idol
Barack Obama, Yes We Can, Teaparty Republican
Lap-band, Kobe Can, Brett Favre retires again
Jay-Z, TMZ, Conan off of NBC
Text me now, call my cell, Bernie Madoff go to hell
Google you, Friend me, How much free porn can I see?
We didn’t start the fire
It was always burning since the world’s been turning.
Black-eyed Peas, swine flu, Michael Jackson, we miss you
YouTube, you’re the star, Wall Street, Limbaugh
Add this app, GPS, kids and teachers having sex
Status update, pass the mandate, Bluetooth in the car
Bailouts, recalls, Starbucks in strip malls
Sarah Palin, banks failing, whales gone wild at the zoo
King LaBron, Amazing Race, Gaga has a poker face
Tiger caught, shame on you, mistress number 22
We didn’t start the fire
It was always burning since the world’s been turning.
We didn’t start the fire
No, we didn’t light it
But we tried to fight it
Crack berry, Kanye, Avatar, Beyonce
Octomom, T-pain, Captain Sully lands a plane
A-Rod, Manny, Sports Center HD

Banks have us on our knees, here’s a loan to pay your fees
Sex scandal stories, everybody’s horny
Congressmen, Letterman, even the Vatican
We didn’t start the fire
No, we didn’t light it
But we tried to fight it
Balloon boy, Susan Boyle, playing Wii, price of oil
Terrorist, bomb scare, double-check the underwear
Ipad, mad photos, driving runaway Toyotas
Bonuses, not fair, China got some cash to spare
Snuggie, Miley, Glenn Beck, O’Reilly
Twilight, Haiti’s plight, battle over late night
Health care reform debate, no more Jon and Kate plus 8
Housewife 4, Jersey Shore, I can’t take it any more
We didn’t start the fire
It was always burning since the world’s been turning.
We didn’t start the fire
No, we didn’t light it
But we tried to fight it
We didn’t start the fire
But when we are gone,
It will burn on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on
What else would you have included?
I remember spending time Googling each of the events mentioned in the original song when I first heard it because I didn’t know what a lot of the references meant. I can tell that I’m getting old and paying attention more because knew what Bruce Fine was talking about without having to look them up!
