Following Him
Jesus Christ is the Great Exemplar. He set a perfect example for us to follow. The more we learn about His life and teachings the easier it becomes to answer the question, “What would Jesus do?”
There are many beautiful songs that encourage children as well as adults to follow Him. Here some lyrics from a few that come to mind:
Come follow me, the Savior said. Then let us in His footsteps tread. For thus alone can we be one with God’s own loved, begotten Son.
Jesus once was a little child, a little child like me, and he was pure and meek and mild as a little child should be. So little children, let’s you and I try to be like Him, try, try, try.
I’m trying to be like Jesus. I’m following in His way. I’m trying to love as He did in all that I do and say.. . .I’m trying to love my neighbor. I’m learning to serve may friends. I watch for the day of gladness when Jesus will come again. I try to remember the lessons he taught. Then the Holy Spirit enters into my thoughts, saying, “Love one another as Jesus loves you. try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, for these are the things Jesus taught.”
If the Savior stood beside me, would I do the things I do? Would I think of his commandments and try harder to be true? Would I follow His example, would I live more righteously, if I could see the Savior standing nigh watching over me?
