Newt has removed the mask
Posted by Joy Bischoff under: Presidential Election 2012 .
Until now, Mr. Gingrich has pretended to be a gentleman in the presidential race. That has now ended. His attack on Romney is full of holes with no substance. Gingrich is the ultimate flip-flopper. Just sticking to his own quotes, I have found many. One example is as follows:
“Congressman Newt Gingrich, the Speaker of the House, proposed legislation that would impose the death penalty for people caught carrying as little as 2 ounces of marijuana. (1996?s HR 4170). He excused his own past marijuana use by explaining that pot smoking ‘was a sign that we were alive and in graduate school in that era.’”http://caffeinatedthoughts.com/2011/06/newt-gingrich-on-drugs/
If I wanted to post a very long article, I would begin documenting his corroboration with Nancy Pelosi and other liberals, go into his support on Cap and Trade, and many…many more issues. New is the biggest flip-flopper I know, and he has the gall to call Romney a flip-flopper.
Gingrich Says He’s ‘Conservative Alternative’ to RomneyBy JEFF ZELENY*Chris Keane/ReutersNewt Gingrich, right, with Mitt Romney at a Republican presidential debate in South Carolina this month.*Newt Gingrich, who not long ago was urging his fellow Republican candidates to avoid tearing one another apart in pursuit of the party’s presidential nomination, took a new approach on Monday by explicitly declaring: “I don’t claim to be the perfect candidate; I just claim to be a lot more conservative than Mitt Romney.”*He added, “I wouldn’t lie to the American people. I wouldn’t switch my positions for political reasons. It’s perfectly reasonable to change your position if facts change. If you see new things you didn’t see – everybody’s done that, Ronald Reagan did that. It’s wrong to go around to adopt radically different positions based on your need of any one election, then people will have to ask themselves, ‘What will you tell me next time?’”Mr. Gingrich seemed to be making a not-so-veiled reference to how Mr. Romney’s positions on abortion, gay rights and other issues have evolved over the years. He said that he believes he and Mr. Romney “can have a very serious race” in the weeks ahead.http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/11/28/gingrich-casts-himself-as-conservative-alternative-to-romney/?pagemode=print
Normally, I am irritated when smear pieces use ugly photos of people, but I am so disgusted with Gingrich that I am putting in my own ugly photo.
“I wouldn’t lie to the American people.” Oh really? Then what was the ethics violations all about? He would lie to his wives but not to the American people? The more I read from documented sources about this man, including many old quotes from him, the more I am horrified that many of the American people can allow themselves to be duped by this man. Do your homework, and just stick to legitimate sources. No need to seek out his enemies, he has been his own worst enemy.
