The Press Has Crossed the Line
Posted by Joy Bischoff under: Constitution in Peril; Presidential Election 2008; What's News .
For those Ron Paul supporters out there, I’ll start with you. When Paul was cut from the weekend debate because he did not have enough support, we could all see the unfairness since he far out-played Giuliani in the Iowa Caucus. The press thinks we common people are so stupid that they have to make our choices for us because we are not capable. I believe that the press is the single most dangerous tool being used to destroy our Republic.
The press is really crossing the line the last few days in trying to destroy Romney. In an article I just read entitled: “Huckabee Romney Square Off in Debate”, there were so many falsehoods and distortions that it is getting hard to continue to be patient with this smear campaign. They reported that McCain said to Romney that he didn’t support the surge. The article didn’t give a reply but I clearly remember Romney urging everyone to support the surge and give it a chance before judging the results. The article put the Wyoming win in such a light that it almost sounded like he was hurt by winning there, and much more twisting. It also said that Romney has adopted a brand new slogan “change”, when we’ve heard him talk about that a lot in the past. They want people to think that since the word “change” has become magic since Iowa, that the flopping Romney has picked it up. I wish we could get some of these details to Rush, Sean and others. I do not believe I have ever seen the press as determined to destroy anyone as they are Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. They will not stand for a true conservative to present their case before the American people.
I did not post this last night when I wrote it. This morning I have read a number of articles and thought about posting a few quotes, but frankly, I am so shocked and upset by the outright lies the press is reporting, that I cannot bring myself to touch their filth. My heart aches for Mitt Romney to be in a firestorm of hatred and well-coordinated lies. A number of articles and commentators all used the exact same lines last night and this morning they all had a new one. That kind of coincidence is not possible. How can this end well when so many people feed solely on these grossly distorted sound bites? God help us.

Joy, I want to thank you since you are a Romney supporter for acknowledging the injustice to Ron Paul. It is very frustrating to this kind of bias.

Hey Jesse, I’m a Romney supporter too but I want you to know that a lot of us are mad about how the press is dissing Ron Paul. Hang in there.

E.E. – looks like you have evolved to a more inclusive attitude. Glad to see it. Seeing unfairness doesn’t mean we are endorsing the person under attack, it just means we can perceive inequity. If people in different political camps can, especially the ones under severe attack, can support each other on their shared views, and accept the differences graciously, we will accomplish something. I think I’ll blog on that.

Thanks Roy. That doesn’t mean I’d vote for Ron Paul and I’ll probably still support the Republican nominee but I am trying to be more open-minded. I actually agree with a few things Ron Paul says and I think he is getting a bad shake. That said…GO MITT!

Wow, E.E., that is what we are all about here. You really get it. We aren’t trying to necessarily change people’s basic belief system, we are mostly trying to get people to see others as not the enemy so we can work together. Thanks for being here.

“bickering bitterly”. That’s how the msm is describing Romney and Huckabee. They treat Romney like a raving maniac when he stays calm and logical. They are so obvious.
