Sharing the Eve of Super Tuesday
Posted by Joy Bischoff under: General; Presidential Election 2008 .
I know “eve” means evening but don’t wait until then to share any thoughts or article links, etc. that will help us feel the momentum that is building. I am so excited for tomorrow. We think the press is going to be surprised by the huge support Mitt gets. I find it odd that there isn’t more said about the record turn outs in every state so far. I am proud of Americans for stirring themselves and caring. Maybe it isn’t to late to turn around our slide toward liberalism if the people stay interested and engaged enough to study the issues.
I am receiving more and more help all the time from our friends here and I want to thank all of you who are sending me emails with crucial information. We want to keep Roy’s important article near the top for readers to see for a few hours so I would ask a favor. Please posts links under comments, and readers, please check out comments here for new information we all need. From my emails this morning, I can see we have some very important reading and video watching to do together this morning. Have a great day everyone.

My wonderful uncle, Ed Elsberry, just sent me this article. Clink on the link to read the whole thing:
Memo From Mexico, By Allan Wall
Why Is John McCain’s “Hispanic Outreach Director” Still Involved in Mexican Politics? Because That’s How McCain Likes It.

I just received this from a dear friend, Peter Anderson, who has kept me educated on the illegal-immigration problem for years. Many of his best emails came from Al Burns, mentioned below. His death is beyond ironic. I wanted to share this email Peter sent me that was written by Al, as a tribute to a man who fought hard to bring this issue to light. Rest in peace, Al.:
Al Burns (82 years old)was a friend of mine and will be missed. He wrote several articles for various websites. This was the last e-mail Al sent out before he was killed by an Hispanic without drivers license or insurance. Al went outside to his mailbox to get the mail and the car struck and killed him.
Subject: Open Letter To Editor, President Bush And Congress
Gentlemen (and Ladies),
My wife and I have read with great interest your plans to “stimulate
the economy” by giving the majority of taxpayers (oddly, including
illegal aliens) a tax rebate of $600 per individual or $1200 per married
couple. My wife and I will certainly be willing to spend that money to
help in stimulating the economy.
However, if we may offer a suggestion: If giving us $1200 to spend
will help stimulate the economy, we have a suggestion we offer free of
charge. We would gladly undertake the added effort to spend $12,000 if
you would send it to us, which help stimulate the economy TEN TIMES as
much! As Senior Citizens, we are sure that we could find ways to use
the money productively.
If you think about it, this escalation of the tax rebate scheme
could be almost endlessly expanded. We, also, offer to get as many of
our family and friends to join in this expanded effort as possible.
Surely, this will allow us to SPEND the country into prosperity. When
the national debt is already some $9 TRILLION, what difference will a
few billion more make?

Good morning everybody. I pulled this from an article on the Drudge Report. I am so glad it is there and hope lots of people will read it.
“The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine,” Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.), also a senior member of the Appropriations panel, told the Boston Globe recently. “He is erratic. He is hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me.”
A former colleague says McCain’s abrasive nature would, at minimum, make his relations with Republicans on Capitol Hill uneasy if he were to become president. McCain could find himself the victim of Republicans who will not go the extra mile for him on legislative issues because of past grievances.
“John was very rough in the sandbox,” said former senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), who is outspoken in his opposition to McCain’s candidacy. “Everybody has a McCain story. If you work in the Senate for a while, you have a McCain story. . . . He hasn’t built up a lot of goodwill.”

That makes me cry about that poor man Al. I can’t believe how he died when he was always fighting the problem of illegal immigration.

Hat-tip to John Cronin for this:
CNN’s Election Scorecard just updated with the Maine results.
I don’t understand how the process works. Yesterday I read an article about the Maine caucuses that said it was a first step in a “process” that would later elect delegates. I noticed last night that the brackets next to Maine were empty and didn’t show any delegates awarded to Gov. Romney. This morning they show MR as having won 18 delegates!
I’m assuming that CNN knows what it’s doing and that the totals are correct. If that assumption is right, then here are the new totals.
John McCain————97
Mitt Romney————92
Mike Huckabee———-29
So much for John “Open Borders” McCain as the “prohibitive front runner.”
Super Tuesday Voters!!!!!!………Ignore the MSM and vote for Mitt Romney!!!

This guy really burns my butt. I want to see him get his mouth shut tomorrow by a big Romney surge.
ATLANTA — To hear John McCain talk, you’d think he already was the Republican nominee.
“The first thing we’ve got to do after Tuesday is unite this party,” he says repeatedly these days — as if the 21 states holding caucuses and primaries this week are simply a formality.

The press isn’t listening when Mitt talks. He already explained in great detail about job growth in Massachusettes. When he came in as governor there was no plan trying to bring in new companies. He started a very aggressive plan to do that and there are hundreds of companies building there. The reason it looks slow is because Massachusetts is a high tech state. Anyone who knows anything about the state or the kind of business it is known for knows that and knows it takes time to build that kind of business. People want an over night fix and it doesn’t work like that in high-tech. Mitt builds for the future. Not a quick band-aid that looks good but doesn’t hold up in the long run. Here is an article that doesn’t get it:
“According to state unemployment numbers, the net number of jobs added during the four years Romney was in office was 24,400 — a fraction of the total of about 200,000 lost during the recession.
Although the number of new jobs steadily climbed during Romney’s four years in office — from a loss of 54,700 in his first year to a gain of 34,700 in his final year — most of the rest of the country rebounded much faster.
Massachusetts is one of just six states that hasn’t added back all the jobs lost during the recession.
“Our losses were steeper, and our gains have been slower and as an end result we are still nearly 100,000 jobs down,” said Dana Ansel, research director for the Massachusetts Institute for a New Commonwealth, a nonpartisan think tank.”

VIDEO: Romney says NO to North American Community
> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy8r5yCLLj4
I was so relieved to view this video. Not was not relieved to hear that Utah Gov. Huntsman and Shurtlief support McCain. I was surprised at first but when I think about it…. I was thinking McCain wouldn’t have much of a chance in Utah but it could be dangerous to make such assumptions.
Next, here is an email about Romney from ALIPAC:
Subject: Update about Mitt Romney: No CFR affiliation Proof
Friends of ALIPAC,
Standard reminder that ALIPAC is not endorsing any Presidential candidate and our focus is on warning the public about the pro-amnesty candidates, who are all of the Democrats and GOP candidates McCain and Huckabee.
We have to put that text into every email because we get so many false accusations that we are supporting this candidate or that.
While both Mitt Romney and Ron Paul remain on our No Amnesty list at ALIPAC, we are quite aware that voters in America who support anti-Amnesty Ron Paul and Secret-Amnesty Mike Huckabee are looking at the Mitt Romney campaign this weekend because they fear what DC insider John McCain will do to this nation.
We ask our supporters who favor Ron Paul to realize that ALIPAC did not create this situation, we are merely describing what we are seeing out there.
At the time of this e-mail alert, many of our activists across America are working feverishly to get our “McClintObama Amnesty” article out to the nation. Since this article warns voters about both McCain and Huckster, both Paul and Romney are beneficiaries of our efforts.
McClintObama Amnesty Plan: 20 million illegal alien voters by 2010
http://www.alipac.us/article-2920-thread-1-0.html
We have been receiving some repetitive questions and posts about the Mitt Romney campaign. We have done some homework and would like to share this information with you all.
Item 1:
Despite numerous accusations, our researchers can find no evidence that Mitt Romney is currently, or was ever in the CFR or Council on Foreign Relations. Many of our supporters are very concerned about the CFR, since the CFR is a major force behind the push for a “North American Community”, which some call the NAU (North American Union).
While Romney did do a foreign policy speech to the CFR, we can find no record of him being with the CFR, yet online activists who favor other candidates are making this claim on a regular basis.
You can view our discussion on this at this link….
http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-101294.html
Item 2:
There are many accusations that Mitt Romney will support Amnesty like the others. What we do know is that Mitt Romney has been one of the most fervent candidates stating opposition to Amnesty. So much so, it is now confirmed that the Bush administration is working against Mitt Romney behind the scenes and specifically in response to Romney’s tough stance on immigration.
Article: Bush opposes Romney
http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-101590.html
In fact Romney has stated publicly that he opposes the CFR and US Chamber of Commerce’s desire for a North American Community.
http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-101625.html
Item 3:
In a signal to our movement of his support, Mitt Romney just secured the endorsement of Dr. Chris Kobach. Kobach will now serve as an advisory to Romney on immigration matters. Chris Kobach is a famous personality in our movement. He has headed up lawsuits in Kansas against in-state tuition for illegal aliens and is head of the legal team defending the anti-illegal immigration ordinances passed by Historic Hazleton, PA.
In fairness, Ron Paul has secured the endorsements of over 35 groups and activists in our movement, mostly in Southern CA, but to our knowledge the Paul campaign has not placed anyone officially on his campaign.
We did receive good news from the Paul campaign that Ron Paul does plan to sign the NumbersUSA “No Amnesty” pledge, but that has not taken place yet, and we have asked to be advised of when it will happen.
All ALIPAC Activists are quite capable of making up their own minds on what is best and who they support.
We are doing all we can to maintain balance and to respect everyone’s opinions about this race.
Sharon Anderson Says:

That would be Utah Attorney General Shurtleff not Shurtlief who is supporting McCain. Crazy.

Pickles I didnt mean to leave you hanging. Had to feed my cat and it took me awhile to find a plump jackrabbit. Listen girl I got two arms so y’all just come on down. That is if its okay with Iffer. Dont know, she is a fiesty one. She might fight ya off.
Speaking of fightin off, thats good news Sharon about Romney being against that highway. If he gets in I can save my shotgun for rabbits and not the folks trying to build that superstupidhighway.
The Realist Says:

I’ve been listening to Rush Limbaugh. He doesn’t seem to understand that Mitt Romney has had all three legs of the stool for awhile now. He makes it sound like this is something Romney is just now putting together because of political expediency. I know he supports Mitt but he can be very negative and I just don’t understand it. If he wants to help he should stop saying there isn’t any good candidate but we basically have to just settle for Romney since there isn’t anyone else. My personal opinion is that he hasn’t really studied the things Romney has said and done. He’s being lazy about this and not doing the party as much good as he could. Romney is the only hope left for the short run.

This is from Joel Skousen’s World Affairs Brief:
PULLING STRINGS FOR SENATOR McCAIN
The US political circus is an amazing, if not agonizing, show to watch. First, we saw Rudy Giuliani, the establishment’s pre-election favorite (only because the media said so) go from front runner status to a disastrous showing in the primaries—garnering less votes than Rep. Ron Paul, who was systematically denied any meaningful media coverage at all. It appears the public is either fickle or the media polls were just plain lying—perhaps both. Then we saw John McCain with almost no support suddenly rise to front runner status after a barrage of big name newspaper and personality endorsements so unanimous that there had to have existed some guiding hand. The establishment boost for McCain is still ongoing in a big way and is intended to gain McCain a majority of delegates before the convention convenes—which would eliminate a brokered convention where deals and concession have to be made in order to gain that majority. In an up or down vote between McCain or Romney, without Huckabee to draw away votes from Romney, McCain would lose. That’s what the king makers are trying to avoid by manipulating the public during the primaries. It’s time to let America know more about the real McCain. Believe me, he is no hero. For a one-time sample copy of these briefings, send an email to “editor@worldaffairsbrief.com” and request it.
Cameron Says:
4 February 2008 at 2:41 pm.
That’s it. Huckabee has admitted that he is not a conservative. Not that most of us doubted it but it is good that he finally being honest. Here is his quote:
“I think it’s incredibly presumptuous and even arrogant to suggest that the voters who are voting for me would automatically gravitate to him. I think they, quite frankly, would not.”
What could this possibly be saying other than his followers, if not voting for him would pick McCain, the clear moderate? And as Roy explained in his article, the liberals have stolen the moderate label. Case closed.

I took the following paragraphs from an evangelical who has hit the nail on the head. Thanks to ElectRomneyin2008 for always having such great information. If there are any people out there who are still hesitant about a vote for Romney and what that would mean to your religious sensibilities, please read this brilliant explanation from an evangelical who has a political website and has been closely following the race:
As is almost always true in politics, the journey has been quite different than I expected, but I truly believe that the Evangelical political voice is now at stake. If Mitt Romney loses – far from a foregone conclusion – his religion will be but one of many factors in that event, and while important, I do not think it will have been determinative.
However, as the race has narrowed down to two and the spoiler, the conservative voice in the Republican party is at stake – everybody agrees on that, and Evangelicals are the energy, motivator, and banner carrier for that voice. Conservatives lose and Evangelicals are on the bench, if they are in the stadium at all. In other words, we stand on the
precipice I feared from the beginning. The current electoral calculus is such that a vote for Mitt Romney is the only way to preserve that voice.

Wow EE thanks for that great bit of information. LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley was so good in reaching out to people of all faiths, and now some other faiths seem willing to look beyond religious differences and support Mitt. I look forward to the time when those Americans who willing to support good, wise, honest, and moral candidates regardless of religious affiliation are in the majority. That’s one of the things this site is all about.
And by the way, I hope all you guys have told other people about this site. I emailed the link to alot of my friends and several have started visiting. Spread the word.
