Republicans Obligated to Support McCain

Posted by Terrie Soberg under: Constitution in Peril; Presidential Election 2008; Talk Show Observations .

This video is a perfect reason not to vote for McCain. If he were to get into office, the Republicans would feel obligated to support him in order to be loyal to the party. Because of that, we would find many more liberal bills passing Congress into law. At least if Hillary or Obama were in office, the Republicans would work harder to fight against their liberal agenda.

Here is Rush Limbaugh’s quote from the video:

“If I believe the country will suffer with either Hillary, Obama or McCain, I would just as soon the Democrats take the hit . . . rather than a Republican causing the debacle,” he said. “And I would prefer not to have conservative Republicans in the Congress paralyzed by having to support, out of party loyalty, a Republican president who is not conservative.”

Good video. We have to think more than 4 years out on this. Our goals have to be loftier than just slowing an inevitable drift to the left. Let the party hit rock bottom without us and come back for our support. The moderates and leftists have figured out the old boil a frog slowly routine. But we have to sense it and jump out of the pot.

Even if I hadn’t gone back and read all the reasons you guys were writing about why you can’t support McCain, this one blog and video right here would have done it. In a nutshell it shows the danger. Thanks for posting this.

That is something I never thought about. There would be so much pressure in the party to back everything he did. How scary is that? Solidarity to stand against the libs with lib positions. What a twist.

This is definitely one of those “Must See” videos. Thanks, Terrie.

I thought I was kind of over getting outraged about the press and McCain but I guess not. We just lost our title of rank and rile republicans thanks to this article. I just put the middle paragraph:

Lots for McCain to do before November

Determine precisely how to use George W. Bush. He’s unpopular with the electorate as a whole but rank-and-file Republicans still adore him. He’s a prolific fundraiser and a skilled campaigner who could be a powerful surrogate to turn out the base. “I’d be honored to be anywhere with him under any circumstances,” McCain said repeatedly Monday. But whether that translates into joint campaign events remains to be seen.

Our Mission Statement

Encourage people to learn about our Constitution and the freedoms it preserves and to have faith in the Judaeo-Christian principles upon which it is based so that when those freedoms are threatened action may be taken to protect them.

In support of our mission statement, here is our Three-Fold Purpose of the blog, In God We Trust.

1. Defining and spreading an understanding of our Constitutional freedoms for the purpose of sustaining those freedoms.

2. Identifying threats to the unity of the conservative base, and helping people to resist the pressure to compromise values as an answer to political tensions.

3. Spreading the message that the key for healing the nation is showing respect, tolerance and kindness as we accept the political differences of others.
