No Secure Fence in our Future?
Posted by Terrie Soberg under: Constitution in Peril; Presidential Election 2008 .
An email from Grassfire.org:
Dear Terrie,
During last night’s Democratic debate, both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama clearly rejected specific mandates of the Secure Fence Act!
Obama actually went so far as saying, “I will reverse the policy.”
No Fence in our Future?
Terrie, it is now clear that under the headship of either Obama or Clinton, virtually no fence would be built and certainly the Secure Fence Act would likely be ignored altogether!
Frankly, I found their comments contemptible.
These are two people vying for the right to run our nation, and they have the gall to tell the American people they are not interested in making good on what was promised us by Congress–a double-layered border fence!
I’m outraged, and tired of listening to mealy-mouthed lawmakers like Obama, Hillary, Kay Bailey Hutchison and the like who brazenly ignore the will of the people!
I’m doing something about it, and I want you to join with me. Grassfire has just launched our “Build the Border Fence as Promised!” petition demanding Congress build the border fence as originally promised, and I’m asking EVERY MEMBER OF OUR TEAM TO SIGN WITH ME.
Terrie, over the last several months, Grassfire has been working closely with the offices of Rep. Walter Jones, and Rep. Duncan Hunter, who have each introduced legislation demanding the Border Fence is built–in its entirety and as promised!
Over the next 30 days, I want to rally 200,000 grassroots citizens who share my outrage, and want to do something about it!
Terrie, if I must, I will march your petition DIRECTLY into every office on Capitol Hill to move these important pieces of legislation forward!
That is my promise to you.
I simply need you to add your name to our petition right now:
Thank you for taking action.
Steve

I have signed up for several petitions. Once you do your first one, they keep your information on file so it’s very easy to do.

It’s nice to know that this group makes it easy to participate. Do they really accomplish anything?

What a wonderful choice of candidates before us. I added my name to the petition.

Maybe the minute men will come again to our rescue. But I am sure Obama will shut them down, put them in jail, and so on.

Ramos and Compean were certainly rewarded for their diligent efforts. It ticks me off that Bush won’t pardon them.

Carrie, Grassfire.org has done a number a good things. They are able to marshall huge groups of people together and inform them of what is going on. They have been effective in a number of votes in Congress, including votes on border security. I know one time they delivered over 300,000 petitions. I think they are an excellent group.

Bush is trying to keep Latinos in the republican party because he doesn’t think republicans can win without them.
