Huckabee’s Mirth

Posted by Joy Bischoff under: Presidential Election 2008 .

This article from CNN was difficult to read but important because it underscores the complete dishonesty. Sorry, Governor Huckabee, we already have the word that John McCain’s campaign manager gave the instructions to McCain delegates in West Virginia. We have heard first hand accounts on the radio from people who were delegates regarding the McCain people being pulled into rooms before the final vote and given their instructions. You can’t have it both way, sir.

Huckabee Scores First Super Tuesday Win

February 5, 2008

Romney’s campaign was furious over the “Washington backroom deal.”

“Unfortunately, this is what Sen. McCain’s inside Washington ways look like: He cut a backroom deal with the tax-and-spend candidate he thought could best stop Gov. Romney’s campaign of conservative change,” read a statement from Romney campaign manager Beth Myers.

Huckabee chuckled at the remark.

“I thought he was saying yesterday, ‘No whining.’ So is it no whining or whining? He can’t even keep a straight answer on the ‘whining or no whining’ question,” Huckabee said.

“There was no backroom deal,” he added. “There wasn’t even a front room deal. There was no deal.”

Front-runners McCain and Romney have engaged in bitter exchanges over their conservative records in recent weeks.

If you don’t want to the smirks on the faces of Huckabee and McCain, get out and vote. Call everyone you know. The races are very tight in California, Georgia and Arizona.

Ron Paul delegates also made a deal with Huckabee’s people. Their support to Huckabee in exchange for three delegates. Huckabee’s campaign denied this. But John Tate, national political director of the Paul campaign, says a deal was done and the Paul campaign plans to hold Huckabee to it.

I’m listening to Mark Levin. I never listen to Mark Levin. I’m afraid I am getting caught up in this stuff. He just said he can’t reveal his sources or something like that but there are a bunch of states where the voting is very close. People, assume it is your state and get out there.

Just heard on the news that McCain said he will sweep every state except maybe California. It’s too close to call. He really thinks he will sweep Utah and MA? What is wrong with him? Maybe he no longer recognizes truth. The news caster said that McCain has more than twice as many delegates as Romney. Either they are lying or they can’t count.

Well said Peter! get out there and take a real conservative friend. Call your Pro-Mitt friends and harass them to the polls. OK I think I have gone Hog wild enough. I shall retire to washing the dishes (prayerfully.)

If there is any monkeying with votes, maybe they didn’t think they needed to worry about Delaware since everyone knew it would go to McCain. Here is the latest from there:

Exit Polls have Mitt Romney ahead in Delaware. This is totally unexpected. Delaware had been lumped in with the Northeast States as a “sure thing” for McCain.

Delaware
Romney – 43%
McCain – 34%
Huckabee – 18%

The polls all show that everyone is worried most about economy. Then why is anybody voting for McCain? It’s all about the economy stupid.

NBC nightly news hugely pushed Huckabee. Their strategy is helping McCain. Huckabee is doing much better than projected with all the heavy coverage yesterday and today.
They showed a lot of Huckabee and also aired a nasty anti-Romney ad for McCain’s continuing free coverage.
They did a complete smear job on Mitt. They said he was casting himself as a populist which is really nasty because that is what Rush has said about Huck.

Right now CNN said McCain will take Connecticut, Illinois, and Alabama and Romney will take Mass. In Georgia Huck is leading with McCain in second. In TN, Huck is in first and McCain in second.

A reporter from Fox News said some of the delegates spoke personally with McCain who told them to switch to Huckabee.

Jesse Says:

Yup, at least half a dozen McCain delegates have come forward and confirmed this. It isn’t just a rumor. I have to say I am learning to admire Romney more and more as I watch him bear up under the most incredible pile on in the history of the country. Ron Paul has been treated very badly also but I have never seen anything like this. If there are any of my fellow Ron Paul supporters out there who believe Romney is part of the establishment, open your eyes.

S.J. Says:

Jesse, do you think maybe Ron Paul will run for a third party? They were saying here that there might be a far right candidate if McCain gets in.

Matt Says:

5 February 2008 at 8:00 pm.

Mitt was way up in Delaware. Now McCain is way up. Same happened to Montana. I guess it is hard not to be suspicious after N.H. and Florida. They just can’t let him win. He’d ruin years of plans for the North American Union.

Jesse Says:

5 February 2008 at 8:43 pm.

S.J. I don’t consider Ron Paul a far right candidate. He is a Constitutionalist and is not in any way fascist or radical in a far right kind of flavor. If you are thinking about Roy’s political spectrum and a third party split then I think what we would see would be someone with some ties to the establishment. Ron can’t be used.

Cavetrollhead Says:

I don’t think everyone realizes that a brokered convention is more like tonight than it was yesterday. The “surprise” wins in the south for Vice presidential candidate Huckabee are over McCain. Remember no delegates are bound at a brokered convention.

Cavetrollhead Says:

5 February 2008 at 9:50 pm.

I think the Political prostitution by Huckabee is going to sit well with conservatives.

Cavetrollhead Says:

5 February 2008 at 9:56 pm.

I meant NOT going to sit . . .

Jesse Says:

5 February 2008 at 10:13 pm.

It would be interesting if so much of the dirty tricks got out by the convention that Mitt got a lot of Huck’s delegates. Ron will have delegates too. I just can’t guess how this is all going to end.

As soon as California closed ABC finally announced that Romney won North Dakota.
They waited until 98% was in with a 13% lead.
HMM I wonder who ABC is pulling for.

Our Mission Statement

Encourage people to learn about our Constitution and the freedoms it preserves and to have faith in the Judaeo-Christian principles upon which it is based so that when those freedoms are threatened action may be taken to protect them.

In support of our mission statement, here is our Three-Fold Purpose of the blog, In God We Trust.

1. Defining and spreading an understanding of our Constitutional freedoms for the purpose of sustaining those freedoms.

2. Identifying threats to the unity of the conservative base, and helping people to resist the pressure to compromise values as an answer to political tensions.

3. Spreading the message that the key for healing the nation is showing respect, tolerance and kindness as we accept the political differences of others.
