Graceful Exit…Not!

Clinton’s non-exit: Senator Selfish schemes

AFTER LOSING the Democratic presidential nomination on Tuesday, Sen. Hillary Clinton might have called Mitt Romney. When he lost the Republican nomination, the former Massachusetts governor gave a classy and graceful speech conceding his loss, commending Sen. John McCain on his victory, and sending the clear message that the party’s future is more important than his own hurt feelings.

The best word to describe Sen. Clinton’s non-concession concession speech is “Clintonian.” In her tacky and self-centered address, she did not even concede. Instead, she reiterated her case for claiming the nomination. Rather than urge her supporters to unify the party and support the nominee, Sen. Clinton gave the distinct impression that she was plotting to take the nomination at the convention.

Sen. Barack Obama lavished Sen. Clinton with gracious praise Tuesday night. But no amount of praise will be enough to quench Clinton’s burning ambition. Between now and the convention, Sen. Obama ought to watch his back. Bubba Brutus might just be lurking with a metaphorical knife, awaiting the right time.

If Obama dies, I don’t think anyone will trust Hillary with the presidency. People will always suspect she gave the order.

However, I heard a rumor that there is some kind of scuttlebutt about Obama that is thought will sink his campaign and could even breath life back into Hillary.

Rush Limbaugh suggested on his show yesterday that a careful reading of Hillary’s words regarding suspending her campaign shows that she doesn’t really believe Obama is the nominee. She said that she would support him “if” he were the nominee, but Rush doesn’t expect that she is going to concede on Saturday like all of the MSM is reporting. One of his callers even thought that the Clinton’s may have something up their sleeves to release just before the Democratic National Convention that would cause the superdelagates to change their minds and vote for Clinton.

You knew that Clinton would go down kicking and screaming. I read an even worse possibility yesterday that I had not considered–she might end up on the Supreme Court.

Cave, I think Obama is scared to make her VP because he fears assassination. I hate to say it because I know you like Hillary but right now I don’t think she is living in reality. Then again, she believes she can make her own reality and maybe they have enough dirt to justify her feeling that way.

Cave, some of the guys in the office are saying the same thing, that there is something big that is going to be leaked.

Well if she doesnt have anything i am just going to call what she did a publicity stunt.. It brings attention to the fact she might be able to hold on but i have a feeling people are going to be dissapointed if she doesnt pull the rabbit out of the hat and win this.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see either Obama or Clinton be assasinated… they have both equally made many people mad and frustrated.

Angela, it is funny that you say I like Hillary, I know I have said that I will vote for her, or “go Hillary” but I don’t like her a bit. In fact I think McCain would make a better president. But I don’t want to vote for McCain because he brings the republican party to the left on key issues like abortion (McCain V Wisconsin Right to Life) Gas Tax, (McCain Lieberman) Free speech (McCain Feingold.) Therefore, if party leaders are able to succeed making him president influence of conservatives in the party is forever gone. Conservatives will have nowhere to go when the Republicans move to the middle.

Hillary is the lesser of evils for me. She will govern about the same as McCain but not bring the republican party to the left and bury conservatism.

Cave, I considered that also but now I guess it is a moot point. Keeping the party from going any further left is so much more important than a lot of people realize. To gain back lost conservative ground won’t come without a lot of pain.

It’s a very complicated problem. I still don’t know who I am going to vote for. I don’t want to think about it yet. I’ll wait and see who the VP is for McCain.
