Drudge Report: Clinton May Quit

Posted by Joy Bischoff under: Presidential Election 2008 .

NYT THURSDAY: Clinton’s advisers acknowledged it would be difficult to catch up in race for pledged delegates even if she succeeded in winning 3 states on which she is most pinning her hopes: Ohio and Texas in March and Pennsylvania in April. Dem party’s rules would be decided obstacle in efforts to catch up to Obama before voting phase of nominating process ends later in spring… Developing…

This is all we know for now. It may not be true but most of the time Drudge reports a hot tip, it turns out to be true.

Okay cover your eyes, I’m about to spout a conspiracy theory. I am going to be watching the press to see who they are pulling for. Last week after Mitt dropped out, they started attacking McCain. They’ve backed off now I think. So if this is true and Hillary is out, I want to know how things are swinging with the MSM. That will tell us if the power brokers want Obama or McCain.

So is this good news or bad news?

What a shock. I don’t know how I feel about it other than shock. I thought she would have to be dragged kicking and screaming from the stage.

I think it will be bad news if Hillary doesn’t win. I may vote McCain if Obama is the alternative. Probably not but I may.

It is my personal belief that McCain will be eaten alive by the press. But if they want to destroy the conservatives’ power in the republican party, they will support McCain. That may do more damage to our country I think. But If I had money riding on it and had to bet, I would bet McCain gets chewed on.

I think you are right CTH. I copied a paragraph from an article on Yahoo telling about the House of Representatives backing McCain. I thought it was weird that they decided it was good that he has broad base appeal because that means he has a lot of positions that agree with moderates and liberals. How can that be good?

Like Boehner, many rank-and-file Republicans are looking at the bright side.

“I thought he reached out too much to Democrats, but he has a broad appeal,” said Kansas Republican Rep. Todd Tiahrt, a staunch social conservative. “And perhaps I was just limiting my vision to something that was too narrow.”

The last sentence gives me chills, Carrie. He is getting the message that liberals are trying to get into our heads. “Perhaps I was just limiting my vision to something that was too narrow.”
If you haven’t yet, read the blog above by Terrie. Too narrow means any true conservative and they will try everything to make us change. I hate seeing what is happening in the country I love.

That is right Jesse, we have to be firm. They know how to boil a frog.

I expect there is infighting in the establishment. They have a common goal of control but different interests and investments. The war, health care, different platforms and priorities. But what they have done is made sure the conservatives have no candidate. They are playing without us.

It seems like Drudge may have gotten it wrong this time. I admit it was hard to see Hillary letting go. I wouldn’t want to take her on in a game of tug-0-war.

I’ve heard from a couple of places that Bill Clinton keyed Obama’s car after the Iowa loss. He said some really nasty things. There were lots of people who saw it including a bunch of reporters. None of the reporters told about it but lots of the other people have. He is so two faced. Like the time he was laughing and joking on the way to the funeral of a close friend who was going to betray him by testifying before he died in a plane crash. Then when Clinton saw the camera on him he instantly changed to look sad and wiped away a non-tear. Hillary learned that from him. I think the rumor about her quitting was just to get people to feel sorry for her and rise up to support her. Know knows? Maybe it will work.

Bill is always wiping away non tears. I personally like the guy for the great comedy he provides. The ones I worry about are the ones that admire him more seriously. He is like our national Homer Simpson to me- only instead of being fixated on food, it is sex. If you look at him as Homer, personifying the carnal foibles of man in an pathetically endearing way, he is funny. He has so many funny idiosyncrasies- like wiping away tears every time he gets caught. (remember when he dozed on Martin Luther King day during that speech? He wiped away a tear then too. Then he put his hand to his ear as if desperately trying to catch each and every inspiring word. If you can find that vid, you really should. It is a gas)

Hillary won’t drop out this week anyway. She is polling ahead in Ohio and, I think, Pennsylvania.

You know, Clinton is almost on the same page as McCain on the war. She is just pandering to the left currently. The war is winding down and won’t be such an issue next Presidential term. Otherwise it she is almost McCain’s twin. McCain is worse in some ways. I am beginning to think that it doesn’t matter that Romney endorsed McCain. Rs won’t win this term.

Encourage people to learn about our Constitution and the freedoms it preserves and to have faith in the Judaeo-Christian principles upon which it is based so that when those freedoms are threatened action may be taken to protect them.

In support of our mission statement, here is our Three-Fold Purpose of the blog, In God We Trust.

1. Defining and spreading an understanding of our Constitutional freedoms for the purpose of sustaining those freedoms.

2. Identifying threats to the unity of the conservative base, and helping people to resist the pressure to compromise values as an answer to political tensions.

3. Spreading the message that the key for healing the nation is showing respect, tolerance and kindness as we accept the political differences of others.
