Decide for Yourself
Posted by Joy Bischoff under: Judaeo-Christian Values Under Attack; Presidential Election 2008 .
Thank you to Edward Elsberry for sending me this article. Senator Obama has the most liberal voting record in the Senate. He is helping to sponsor a bill for a world poverty tax. Many of the things he is saying and doing convinces me he is a dedicated socialist. The following information seems to fit but you can each decide for yourself if you believe this is credible. The article is very long and I am only sharing a small portion:
Obama’s Communist Mentor
In his biography of Barack Obama, David Mendell writes about Obama’s life as a “secret smoker” and how he “went to great lengths to conceal the habit.” But what about Obama’s secret political life? It turns out that Obama’s childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, was a communist.
In his books, Obama admits attending “socialist conferences” and coming into contact with Marxist literature. But he ridicules the charge of being a “hard-core academic Marxist,” which was made by his colorful and outspoken 2004 U.S. Senate opponent, Republican Alan Keyes.
However, through Frank Marshall Davis, Obama had an admitted relationship with someone who was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). The record shows that Obama was in Hawaii from 1971-1979, where, at some point in time, he developed a close relationship, almost like a son, with Davis, listening to his “poetry” and getting advice on his career path. But Obama, in his book, Dreams From My Father, refers to him repeatedly as just “Frank.”
The reason is apparent: Davis was a known communist who belonged to a party subservient to the Soviet Union. In fact, the 1951 report of the Commission on Subversive Activities to the Legislature of the Territory of Hawaii identified him as a CPUSA member. What’s more, anti-communist congressional committees, including the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC), accused Davis of involvement in several communist-front organizations.
Trevor Loudon, a New Zealand-based libertarian activist, researcher and blogger, noted evidence that “Frank” was Frank Marshall Davis in a posting in March of 2007.
Obama’s communist connection adds to mounting public concern about a candidate who has come out of virtually nowhere, with a brief U.S. Senate legislative record, to become the Democratic Party frontrunner for the U.S. presidency. In the latest Real Clear Politics poll average, Obama beats Republican John McCain by almost four percentage points.

I am telling you, I may have to vote for McCain after all. I can’t see Obama getting into office. I don’t think there is any stopping him though. I would definitely vote for Hillary before McCain, just to save our party. Obama may be too much for me.

No judgment here. Each person has to decide for themselves and we can all do different things but still fight for the Constitution. I knew what came out against McCain and then these things about Obama would get a whole lot more people behind McCain. That’s okay. I have already expressed my own opinions on this and feel no need to do it again.

Just read this in a AP story and I thought I would put it here because of what Joy wrote:
In a twist, however, there were early signs that the brouhaha might actually help McCain solidify the GOP base.
Conservative pundits who are some of McCain’s harshest critics could have jumped on the issue to question the strength of McCain’s family values. Instead, they went after the Times.
“There is nothing in it here that you can say is true,” Rush Limbaugh told his radio listeners. He accused the newspaper of “trying to take him out.” Another conservative voice, Laura Ingraham, contended the newspaper was trying to “contaminate” the GOP’s nominee with an “absurd attack.”
By Thursday afternoon, the Arizona senator had begun a fundraising appeal based on the story.
“The New York Times … has shown once again that it cannot exercise good journalistic judgment when it comes to dealing with a conservative Republican,” campaign manager Rick Davis wrote in an e-mail to supporters. “We need your help to counteract the liberal establishment and fight back against The New York Times by making an immediate contribution today.”

My problem is that I think this is credible and I think all those ex-POWs who say McCain cooperated with his captors are also credible. So do I pick the communist or the Manchurian Candidate? I think I’ll stick with Mitt. I need to feel right about who I pull the lever for. But I get why others disagree.

Can anyone accused of high crimes and misdemeanors (or low crimes and misappropriations) become the party nominee even if they have enough delegates? Perhaps we need someone in the wings just in case.

Chuck, good idea. And I know just the guy. I’m a Mitten.

Listen folks, I know it was rotten what NYT did to McCain but let’s face it. He used his buddies there to help him bring Romney down. His supporters were big fans of the MSM for a while there. Now that the same friends have turns against him, everybody is screaming foul. What goes around comes around…my friends.

The thing that worries me so much about Mitt being in the wings (not that there is much chance anyway) is that the Democratic base seems so energized, that Mitt can’t win the general. If he doesn’t win in the general he won’t ever get the nod from the party again. It may have turned out better this time for Romney- and for the people get desperate enough for good honest leadership.

What Obama’s Senate votes reveal
The list of ‘yeas’ and ‘nays’ offer some clues to an Obama presidency

A solid party loyalist
Obama’s roll call votes in 2005, 2006 and 2007 have been analyzed by the non-partisan journal Congressional Quarterly which found him to be a Democratic Party loyalist.
CQ didn’t use every single roll call vote to make this determination, instead it analyzed votes where a majority of Democratic senators opposed a majority of Republican senators.
In 2007, Obama voted with his fellow Democrats 97 percent of the time. In 2006, his score was 96, and in 2005, he again netted a 97 percent rating….
LOTS MORE THERE

Another thing that worries me is that the Evangelicals are an important constituency of the republicans, and seeing that so many of evangelicals simply will not vote for a Mormon, Mitt may never be able to win in a general. As they should, Evangelicals put Jesus above all but, unfortunately, many think that means they must oppose a Mormon at all costs.
I know this is not a new concept. I’m not sure why I am bringing it up now. I guess just so we can keep open to the possibility of looking beyond Romney, although he is one of my personal heroes and would make a GREAT president.

Good post chuck.
One quote from the article that drives me nuts. “We need somebody who’s got the empathy to recognize what it’s like to be a young teenage mom.” -Obama
Empathy is not a prime requisite for a supreme court judge. In fact empathy is a motivator to legislate from the bench. Personal sentiments should have no influence from the bench. The very calling of a supreme court judge is to interpret the law as written and intended by the legislators or authors of the constitution. This is a fundamental liberal failing- to feel that a judge should be an advocate for a person or group. The exact opposite is true. That is why liberals like Obama are so dangerous to the constitution.

This covers the needs I discussed yesterday. Not exactly a bird’s eye view, but good enough to see how a candidate’s key votes went. Thanks for your input guys.
