A Question for John McCain

Posted by Joy Bischoff under: Constitution in Peril; Presidential Election 2008 .

Thanks to Peter Anderson for sending along this information.

John McCain has deployed Open Borders advocate Juan Hernandez as the National Director of Hispanic Outreach for his Presidential campaign.

Juan Hernandez used to work for Mexican President Vicente Fox, he has dual US and Mexican citizenship, and is a regular guest on major news networks where he advocates amnesty for illegal aliens and the free flow of people across the US and Mexican border.

Juan Hernandez worked for the Mexican government as the head of the “Presidential Office for Mexicans
Abroad”.

Hernandez has been a flagrant advocate for giving amnesty, US driver licenses, and banking services to illegal aliens.

He is the author of a book titled “The New American Pioneers: Why Are We Afraid of Mexican Immigrants?” where he compares illegal aliens in the US with the original European pioneers on this continent.

Juan Hernandez has stated to the media that he advocates a “Mexico First” philosophy for Mexican Americans (legal and illegal) living in the United States!

Juan Hernandez advocates the free flow of people across US Borders to “establishing a new North American market combining the U.S. Mexico”

Hernandez has also defended illegal alien identity thieves and other illegal alien criminals that have harmed Americans.

Please contact John McCain’s campaign and ask him why he has Juan Hernandez on his staff!

See now this is one of things that makes me so nervous about McCain. I think he would implement the Security and Prosperities Act faster than the Democrats would. The chaos that is going to create is unthinkable. It was our own party that pushed through NAFTA. Most of the Democrats were against it. I know Clinton is a NAFTA girl and Obama will go along with it but McCain will ram through Security and Prosperity so fast it will make our heads spin.

Man this sounds too far out to be true. This is dangerous stuff. After all the trouble I went through to get my wife legal and now they are trying to just give it away, to one ethnic group of immigrants.

I am going to have to look into the Security and Prosperity Act E.E. so I know better what you are talking about. I have heard Glenn Beck mention it but I am in the dark, I am ashamed to say.

Here’s McCain’s reply:

He’s on my staff because he supports my policies and my proposals and my legislative proposal to secure the borders first. [...] I don’t know what his previous positions are or other positions are, he supports mine. I have nothing to do with his. He has volunteered to help me with outreach to our Hispanic citizenry as I outreach to every citizen in America. [...] I have no idea but I will check in to the information you’ve given me.

According to a McCain spokesman, he was just an unpaid volunteer. However, McCain himself says he’s on his staff, and there would seem to be a conflict between their descriptions of his roles. McCain also claims to be clueless about Hernandez’ previous positions, something that’s difficult to believe considering that Hernandez is a Senior Fellow at the McCain-linked “Reform Institute”. But, if he isn’t lying, that indicates a strong lack of judgment. And, I doubt whether McCain’s attempts to disclaim responsibility for the opinions of a member of his staff would wash if that person held opinions that the MSM considered out of bounds.

The thing to do now is for others to hound him at future appearances, pointing out that Hernandez used to work for a foreign government that encourages illegal immigration to the U.S. and that he’s now “outreaching” to U.S. citizens and voters on McCain’s behalf. And, ask him whether he’s had a chance to check in to Hernandez’ positions, why he wasn’t aware of them before, and whether he’s going to request that Hernandez leaves his “staff”. The MSM can also be asked why they aren’t looking in to this, such as by asking them in person (noting their names) or by posting comments at MSM sites that discuss McCain.

I read your link, Chuck. Interesting stuff I decided to google and read more and came on an interesting site. Scroll down to the video and watch Juan Hernandez. He says a lot of scary stuff including wanting Canada, US and Mexico to be one economic block. That’s what everyone said it would be when the EU did the same thing. Now they are essentially one country.

Our Mission Statement

Encourage people to learn about our Constitution and the freedoms it preserves and to have faith in the Judaeo-Christian principles upon which it is based so that when those freedoms are threatened action may be taken to protect them.

In support of our mission statement, here is our Three-Fold Purpose of the blog, In God We Trust.

1. Defining and spreading an understanding of our Constitutional freedoms for the purpose of sustaining those freedoms.

2. Identifying threats to the unity of the conservative base, and helping people to resist the pressure to compromise values as an answer to political tensions.

3. Spreading the message that the key for healing the nation is showing respect, tolerance and kindness as we accept the political differences of others.
