Hey Cavetrollhead, you are right on with the two comments posted above.
1. Mitt on abortion: during the debate with Kennedy he stated two or three that he held deep, personal beliefs on abortion, but that he would not force his beliefs on others. That does not sound like "Pro-abortion" to me, as he is being painted by the press. It sounded like a man who respects the laws of the land and personal freedom. But now, at a federal level, he will be able to do even more than he did in Mass. for life.
2. Ron Paul... actually, I did not share with Jesse all of my beliefs about Ron Paul. I like him acting like a feisty little mutt yapping at the heals of congress, especially about issues dealing with health care freedom. I say "Go Ron Go!" But when it comes to national and world security he is as blind as many Americans were prior to our entry into WWII. What did Ron Paul not learn from Chamberlain's "Peace in our time" mentality? Let's give tyranny and terror free rain anywhere in the world and focus only within our own borders. Sure, they killed thousands on 9/11 but if we leave them alone they might not do it again... for awhile, anyway. This approach to avoid evil did not work in the 30's and 40's and I believe the evil we face today is even more insidious. The elitists are acting foolishly and cowardly in my opinion and today are no more enlightened than Chamberlain, Kennedy, and the rest leading up to WWII. Ron Paul will not bring the world peace with his approach to world affairs.

Cavetrollhead, we are happy to have someone around who knows his stuff so well, especially on something this important.

E.E., I will make sure that someone adds that information in a blog. It is a subject with a lot of interest.

That is fabulous information, Cavetrollhead. And welcome btw. I would love to see your abortion information posted so everyone sees it. So many people keep coming back to the issue of abortion. So many people accuse Mitt of changing his stance recently when he threw his hat in the ring for president. It just makes me so mad. Why aren't we hearing more of this kind of thing?

Hi Chuck. I want to issue my own heads up about Ron Paul. I know he is good on some things. But if we pull out of Iraq unconditionally, we will see mass slaughter in Iraq. Remember Viet Nam when we pulled with no exit strategy and millions were systematically slaughtered? Makes me shudder for the children.

It frustrates me how people refer to Kennedy vs Romney of 16 years ago. If your kids are voting for the first time, they were probably in diapers 16 years ago. As for his platform running for Governor in 2002, he both kept his promises to respect the laws on "choice" that existed in Mass, and managed to veto NEW pro-choice legislation. Mitt Romney so staunchly supported life as Governor that he received the "Massachusetts Citizens for Life "William D. Mullins Award: For outstanding political leadership." That means he has been a solid pro-life advocate for more than 6 years. That means he flipped the right way and never flopped back. (like Ronald Reagan) By the way, in Massachusetts, he currently leads in the polls by 21 point and has above 50% of likely voters. (lets see if McCain is doing that well in his home state)

I emailed this to a friend who has been struggling with the whole abortion thing. She said it helped a lot and makes her think she can support Romney. She just wanted to feel good about it as a strict LDS woman.

I'm glad you added the email so I can get some of this stuff around easier. Thanks.

I had a sister who wanted Duncan Hunter but I told her kind of the same you are saying Chuck C. I changed her mind but I didn't change my brothers mind. Now that Duncan dropped out my sister is glad she changed to Mitt. My brother doesn't know what he's going to do.

Jesse, if I had a vote to throw away as a statement vote, I would use it on Ron Paul.
I have had dozens and dozens of emails from his supporters and I honestly do believe he is needed in the House to keep things in line there. Blog with your heart, but vote with your head, or we will have a John McCain or Hillary Clinton interpreting the Constitution for us - not to mention populating the Supreme Court with people you and I will be sorry about.
