Of course Mitt could have phrased it better, especially knowing that most of the media is an early election machine for President Obama…but in essence, he is correct. The middle class needs the focus right now economically. The very poor and the wealthy have their basic needs met in most cases (not all) but the middle class is hurting tremendously.

Years ago, I called a radio show when Governor Mike Leavitt was a guest. I told him that I felt that the middle class did not get the help that the upper and lower class does. He talked about programs for the poor. I told him that I understood there were safety nets for the poor, but the middle class has struggled.

I believe that one of the reasons so many mothers must work outside of the home while their children are little is because wages have not kept up with inflation, especially real estate values. Romney is the first politician that I have heard specifically address this problem, and I am thrilled.

Romney is also being criticized for wanting minimum wage increased. For years I have looked for the crux of why there is such tension between the classes with a tendency for many people to move toward socialism. I believe the answer is found in an LDS scripture from 3rd Nephi. In reads that those who oppress the hireling in their wage are sinful. If workers were paid more, then there would be a multitude of great results which I do not have time to go into now. I am happy that Romney is addressing this whole issue.

romney, wealth, common man, republican, presidential, race, bain capitol, economy, capitalism, newt, gingrich, rick perry, america, 2012

After digesting current media and social trends, I have pinpointed a definite pattern that mirrors a portion of history from Russia. And it is no coincidence, but a cunningly crafted path that is and will be a major factor that shapes the 2012 presidential race.

With careful manipulation, in the early 20th century, the Bolsheviks turned the masses against anyone with wealth. Those who had a genius to create jobs and become successful were turned into enemies.

This is the same method being used today in the US which strongly implies; The common man is good, and anyone who becomes successful is evil and are incapable of understanding us.

What this country needs is a leader who knows how to trim the fat and put in motion a turn around in economics. The best person for the job is one who has a genius for doing this. Romney has the track record. Let’s not hate him because he is good at leading, at turning around failing businesses, Olympics, and soon a nation. Let’s not be Bolsheviks.

I would love to hear Obama tell other countries how to solve their economic problems. This economic crisis reminds me of when I was residing temporarily in Venezuela, a member of OPEC, when their currency went through a meltdown. A multi-year government supported steady currency exchange of 4.25 Bolivares to the US dollar overnight changed to 8 to a dollar then I think as high as 24 Bolivares to the dollar. Despite their oil revenues enough years of government corruption and over-spending caused their currency to take a big hit. It was really great for those of us with U.S. dollars to spend but bad for everyone else. I remember thinking that the US was not immune to the same thing happening to us. After years of poor decisions by the government it still hasn’t happened but I am still sure it will eventually. I think all it would take is for the major buyers of dollars to sell them off and the dollar would be worthless.

Joe Biden said yesterday that the administration and everyone else misread the economy. That simply is not true. The economists I have learned to trust (because they prove correct) have all disagreed with the cheerleaders in government. I hope this will help us learn to disregard the socialist propaganda machine in the future. I have not been focusing on the economy much the past few months because the powers that be have been telling us how much better things are. Not wanting to rain on the parade, and knowing that people desperately wanted to believe this, I waited until evidence shows that the direction we are going is not designed to turn around the crisis in the long run. The economics is just wrong.

Why do I even bother to discourage people by underscoring financial instability? Because we need to wake up to the fact that our economic troubles are the result of a dangerous socialist direction and we must return to our Constitutional roots before the economy can be stabilized. Battle fatigue is effecting many Americans. Our heads are sometimes bowed by discouragement and our hands hang down. We must do our best to press forward despite emotional exhaustion and spread the message, (ignoring the mocking from the left) that politics does effect the lives of every American. The goodness we have enjoyed in this nation was no accident, it was the result of precious freedoms. For there to ever be a return of the American way, we must reassert the principles that created the greatest country in the history of the world.

The video that can be seen on the article below shows a lot more than the printed portion. For one thing, Biden said basically that anyone would say they had been doing a great job handling the funds from the stimulus package. No wonder the reporter did not include that in the print. His reaction shows he does not believe that. This is a good example of the altered state of reality I like to call “Biden World”.

Vice President Biden also seemed to be setting the stage for a second stimulus package. That would make sense because their stimulus package was clearly designed as a political payback to all the organizations who put President Obama into office; for example, ACORN, and the Teacher’s Union. Little of the money has gone to the creation of new jobs. No wonder the unemployment figures have surpassed the administrations predictions. Thus, if they come to the point of passing a new stimulus package, they would probably then use the money to do what the original should have done. The problem is, this stops some of the bleeding but the internal hemorage only gets worse. It solves nothing and will get us to the inflationary tipping point all that much sooner. When that shoe drops, there will be hell to pay.

Biden: We ‘Misread the Economy’Big admission from Vice President Joe Biden today.

“The truth is, we and everyone else misread the economy,” Biden told me during our exclusive “This Week” interview in Iraq.

Biden acknowledged administration officials were too optimistic earlier this year when they predicted the unemployment rate would peak at 8 percent as part of their effort to sell the stimulus package. The national unemployment rate has ballooned to 9.5 percent in June — the worst in 26 years.

“The truth is, there was a misreading of just how bad an economy we inherited,” said Biden, who is leading the administration’s effort to implement it’s $787 billion economic stimulus plan. . .

This was also on the Voice of the soldier. Just thought I would share it with you.

Who created 50 million jobs in America? Who paid wages fo high that the poorest workman could afford luxuries even the rich in other countries never had? Who paid for the research to develop new postwar products which could be providing greater prosperity than the world ever saw?

American industry—spurred on by the chance for profit.
It has paid more taxes, provided more jobs, paid higher wages, produced more goods at lower prices, developed more national security than any other system in any other time in any other part of the world.

Now this great force which has done all this for America is being treated by elements of government and labor as though it were an enemy. Industry is told what it must pay but government wants to decide what it can keep; industry managers who supply the brains to keep all business going are cut back and back in profit an the right to manage; a thousand regulations trip, hamstring and block business progress. The wonder is that American industry and those who own and manage it bother to keep on hoping and working.

It might pay all of us who share in industry’s benefits (all 129,999,000 of us) to examine the thousand or so who are
trying to kill it. Regardless of their names, the accent is foreign.

“The idea that even the brightest person or group of bright people, much less the U.S. Congress, can wisely manage an economy has to be the height of arrogance and conceit. Why? It is impossible for anyone to possess the knowledge that would be necessary for such an undertaking.”

Peter Anderson sent me the following article from the International Forecaster by Bob Chapman. I am sharing only a portion:

The collapse of the dollar is certain. The Treasury and the Fed have committed the American taxpayer to $13.8 trillion of debt and before the dollar goes where it is ultimately going that figure could reach $30 trillion.

In modern times such fiscal and monetary irresponsibility is unparalleled. This abdication of moral responsibility has already begun the process of dollar deterioration and rising interest rates. The result will soon be hyperinflation.

The collapse may be disastrous for all countries, but it is going to be equally disastrous for the corrupt who have brought us to this sad situation. Hopefully as painful as it will be it could create many new opportunities for some. One thing we see as certain is that the elitists will find themselves targets of civil and criminal charges and targets of contempt and derision. The new world order they so arrogantly and confidentially predicted with one world government will again have been a failure.

There is no question where China is headed in this currency war to dump the dollar. They continue to accumulate gold with the intention of having a gold backed currency – something America is, we believe, incapable of doing. Such an ongoing pressing event has to put continual downward pressure on the dollar. China is already by passing the dollar reserve system by settling in other currencies, using barter and through swap arrangements, major changes are in the process of taking place. We do not believe the yuan will be the reserve currency of the future. A better idea is to have a weighted basket of 10 major currencies as a world benchmark. China is heavily dependent on exports and as yet does not have domestic demand to relieve pressure when exports fall. They are also still a dictatorial, communist society in power by force.

They also still have an enormous population and wages are still dreadful even though they have increased 10-fold over the past 15 years. Politically both China and the US face populations that are profoundly unhappy and if major changes are not made in both societies, both are ripe for revolution.

Medvedev calls for new reserve currencies

YEKATERINBURG, Russia – Russian President Dmitry Medvedev says the world needs new reserve currencies.

Medvedev told a regional summit Tuesday that the creation of new reserve currencies in addition to the dollar is needed to stabilize global finances.

Medvedev has made the proposal before. It reflects both the Kremlin’s push for greater international clout and a concern shared by other countries that soaring U.S. budget deficits could spur inflation and weaken the dollar.

Airing it at a summit meeting underlined the challenge to U.S. clout. . .

Moscow is expected to use the meeting of leaders from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to try to cement the six-nation group as a counterbalance to the U.S. presence in strategic Central Asia.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev opened the two-day meeting by saying the group would discuss the global financial crisis as well as the key issue the organization was created to address: regional security.

“Our organization has been created quite recently, but it has scored quite serious progress,” he said.

Late Monday, Medvedev had what he called a “most productive and useful” meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and he promised that Russia will help Afghanistan create “an efficient political system.”. . .

The 8-year-old Shanghai Cooperation Organization is dominated by Russia and China and includes Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, with countries such as India, Iran and Pakistan holding observer status.Medvedev also was expected to meet with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The Iranian leader postponed his arrival in this Ural Mountains city until Tuesday, according to the Iranian Embassy in Moscow, during protests in Iran over his bitterly disputed re-election. . . .

While Moscow and its neighbors have stressed solidarity with the West on the need for stability in Afghanistan, Kremlin critics say they have used their combined clout in the past to confound U.S. efforts.

In 2005, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization supported Uzbekistan’s eviction of U.S. forces from a base supporting operations in Afghanistan. In February, Kyrgyzstan announced it would evict U.S. forces from their only other Central Asian base — a decision widely seen as influenced by Russia. U.S. officials have said there is still hope for a deal to keep use of the Manas base. . .

The summit will be followed late Tuesday by the first full-fledged summit of BRIC, a group linking the emerging economies Brazil, Russia, India and China.
