I have watched the news reports regarding the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear catastrophe in Japan with great sorrow, horror, amusement, and even anger. The Japanese people are suffering beyond belief. Families are living outdoors in sub-freezing temperatures with little food, clothing, and blankets. Thousands of people are missing and dead. Rescue crews are not able to get into the remote areas to provide help. We can’t do much except pray for them and donate money through reputable organizations such as the Red Cross.

Here is a new tsunami video:

Click here to view the embedded video.

What disturbs me most of all is the lies that are perpetuated by the Japanese and United States governments and by the mainstream media. It doesn’t take a conspiratorialist to know that cover-ups are happening all around us. I don’t want to be considered an extremist, which is why I’ve waited this long to post Even Glenn Beck, for whom I have a lot of respect, has fallen into the “there is no dangerous radiation heading to the United States” line. Glenn does such an efficient job of researching his topics, so I have to ask myself why. The only answer I can come up with is that people are too afraid to contemplate what the truth would mean.

In order to find out the true facts, you have to be willing to do some research outside of our country. Nuclear physicists and other knowledgeable scientists in Europe and other areas have documented some very scary facts regarding the effects of the Fukushima disaster. High levels of radiation have reached and will continue to reach our country. We have meltdowns in not one, but two of the reactors.

I know that there is a desire to keep the people from panicking, but they need to be told the truth. I want to know the truth so I can protect my family. Even small amounts of radiation can cause birth defects and cancer.

I found this article today:

Weather Models Show High Levels of Radiation Entering U.S. from Japan

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars.com
March 27, 2011

On Saturday, Yukiya Amano, the director of the United Nations’ International Atomic Energy Agency, said the Japanese nuclear crisis could go on for weeks, if not for months.

Weather Models Show High Levels of Radiation Entering U.S. from Japan levels2Test conducted Friday showed iodine 131 levels in seawater 30 km (19 miles) from the coastal Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant had spiked 1,250 times higher than normal. Japanese officialdom insisted this unusual level does not pose a threat to marine life or food safety, according toReuters.

“Ocean currents will disperse radiation particles and so it will be very diluted by the time it gets consumed by fish and seaweed,” said Hidehiko Nishiyama, a senior agency official.

A number of countries have banned milk and produce from areas around the Fukushima Daiichi plant, while others have been monitoring Japanese seafood.

Amano told the media the Japanese have no idea if the reactor cores and spent fuel were covered with the water needed to cool them and prevent the release of radiation. “More efforts should be done to put an end to the accident,” he said and was carefully not to criticize Japan’s lackadaisical response.

An official from plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) told a Sunday news conference experts still are not certain where to put the contaminated water.

Scientists quoted by the corporate media continue to insist that radioactive particles crossing the Pacific are far too diluted to cause any harm.

In fact, scientists are complaining that the Japanese have not fowarded sufficient information on the nuclear meltdown. They say the quality and quantity of information coming out of Japan has left gaping holes in their understanding of the disaster nearly two weeks after it began.

Independent researchers, however, dispute claims that the radiation now lofting over the northern hemisphere is not dangerous. The Weather Online website has posted a number animated models showing dangerous concentrations of iodine 131 and caesium 137 entering the United States with prevailing weather and the jet stream.

The site notes that since the continuous release rate is very uncertain, the calculations have to be interpreted qualitatively.

Here is a video posted earlier today showing the animations:

Click here to view the embedded video.

Addendum

“An international advisory body has recommended the Japanese government temporarily raise the annual limit of radiation exposure for the general public in light of the ongoing crisis at the quake- and tsunami-crippled nuclear power plant in Fukushima Prefecture,” reportsThe Mainichi Daily News.

“The government stipulates that regular citizens in Japan should be exposed to no more than 1 millisievert of radiation per year, but the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) on March 21 recommended the limit be tentatively raised to 20 to 100 millisieverts per year, with the nuclear crisis showing no signs of abating.”

The NGO said the level of permissible radiation should be increased “in order to prevent residents of Fukushima Prefecture from abandoning their hometowns.”

This is the first part of an New York Times article my dad sent me this morning. If you send or upload photos from your cell phone, be sure to read the full article!

When Adam Savage, host of the popular science program “MythBusters,” posted a picture on Twitter of his automobile parked in front of his house, he let his fans know much more than that he drove a Toyota Land Cruiser.

Adam Savage, host of the popular science program “Mythbusters,” posted a picture on Twitter of his automobile parked in front of his house that was geotagged.

The ICanStalkU.com Web site provides step-by-step instructions for disabling geotagging on the iPhone.

Instructions on how to disable the geotagging feature of an Android phone.

Embedded in the image was a geotag, a bit of data providing the longitude and latitude of where the photo was taken. Hence, he revealed exactly where he lived. And since the accompanying text was “Now it’s off to work,” potential thieves knew he would not be at home.

Security experts and privacy advocates have recently begun warning about the potential dangers of geotags, which are embedded in photos and videos taken with GPS-equipped smartphones and digital cameras. Because the location data is not visible to the casual viewer, the concern is that many people may not realize it is there; and they could be compromising their privacy, if not their safety, when they post geotagged media online.

Mr. Savage said he knew about geotags. (He should, as host of a show popular with technology followers.) But he said he had neglected to disable the function on his iPhone before taking the picture and uploading it to Twitter.

“I guess it was a lack of concern because I’m not nearly famous enough to be stalked,” he said, “and if I am, I want a raise.”

Still, Mr. Savage has since turned off the geotag feature on his iPhone, and he isn’t worried about the archived photo on Twitter because he has moved to a new residence.

The article goes on to give more information about the this technology and gives a website that teaches people how to turn off the phone feature.

The Web site ICanStalkU.com provides step-by-step instructions for disabling the photo geotagging function on iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Palm devices.

Ain’t technology wonderful?

We know how reliable the media is in reporting (ha), and we can be certain that we hear all of the news that pertains to us (ha), so why be worried? Stories like this confirm why we should be concerned. This story is on the Military.com website:

Army Lab Finds 9,200 Unaccounted Vials

June 18, 2009

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – An inventory of deadly germs and toxins at an Army biodefense lab in Frederick found more than 9,200 vials of material that was unaccounted for in laboratory records, Fort Detrick officials said Wednesday.

The 13 percent overage mainly reflects stocks left behind in freezers by researchers who retired or left Fort Detrick since the biological warfare defense program was established there in 1943, said Col. Mark Kortepeter, deputy commander of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases.

He said the found material included Korean War-era serum samples from patients with Korean hemorrhagic fever, a disease still of interest to researchers pursuing a vaccine. Other vials contained viruses and microbes responsible for Ebola, plague, anthrax, botulism and host of other ailments, Kortepeter said in a teleconference with reporters.

“What happens over time, these get moved from one freezer to another, historically. Now we have much better tracking of where they are,” Kortepeter said.

About half of the found material has been destroyed, Kortepeter said. Samples deemed potentially useful were saved and entered into a laboratory database, he said.

The material was in tiny, 1mm vials that could easily be overlooked in the 25-cubic-foot freezers or even covered by clumps of minus-80-degree ice, said Sam Edwin, the institute’s inventory control officer.

Kortepeter said the inventory found nothing missing from about 70,000 items the institute began cataloging in 2005. He said Army criminal investigators have concluded that three vials of Venezuelan equine encephalitis that were discovered missing last year “were likely used up but for some reason were never recorded with the database.”

The separate search of the institute’s 335 freezers and refrigerators began Feb. 4 and ended May 27. Kortepeter said it was prompted by the discovery during a spot check in January of 20 samples of Venezuelan equine encephalitis in a box listed as containing 16.

He said the review was ordered by the institute’s commander, not by higher officials.

However, the spot check that led to the inventory was part of a tightened security program the Army implemented at all five of its biological and chemical research centers in December in response to an FBI finding that a Fort Detrick scientist was responsible for deadly 2001 anthrax attacks, said Michael Brady, special assistant to Army Secretary Pete Geren.

Brady said the other labs found no discrepancies, so they did not need inventory reviews.

The new security measures also include an annual check to ensure that all material in the database is accounted for, Brady said.

“This is not going to be a once-in-a-while thing,” he said. “This is going to be a regular, aggressive inventory accountability program to make sure we don’t have the problems we’ve seen in the past.”

After Fort Detrick anthrax researcher Bruce E. Ivins killed himself in July, the FBI announced that he alone was responsible for the anthrax mailings that killed five people and sickened 17 others in 2001. Ivins committed suicide after learning he would be charged in the attacks. His attorney maintains he was innocent.

US Swine Flu Cases May Have Hit 1 Million

By MIKE STOBBE, AP Medical Writer

ATLANTA – Swine flu has infected as many as 1 million Americans, U.S. health officials said Thursday, adding that 6 percent or more of some urban populations are infected. The estimate voiced by a government flu scientist Thursday was no surprise to the experts who have been closely watching the virus.

“We knew diagnosed cases were just the tip of the iceberg,” said Dr. William Schaffner, a Vanderbilt University infectious diseases expert who was in Atlanta for the meeting of a vaccine advisory panel.

Lyn Finelli, a flu surveillance official with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, made the 1 million estimate in a presentation to the vaccine panel. The number is from mathematical modeling, based on surveys by health officials.

Regular seasonal flu sickens anywhere from 15 million to 60 million Americans each year.

The United States has roughly half the world’s swine flu cases, with nearly 28,000 reported to the CDC so far. The U.S. count includes 3,065 hospitalizations and 127 deaths.

The percentage of cases hospitalized has been growing, but that may be due to closer scrutiny of very sick patients. It takes about three days from the time symptoms appear to hospitalization, Finelli said, and the average hospital stay has been three days.

Other health problems have been a factor in most cases: About one in three of the hospitalized cases had asthma 16 percent diabetes, 12 percent have immune system problems and 11 percent chronic heart disease.

The numbers again highlight how the young seem to be particularly at risk of catching the new virus. But data also show that the flu has been more dangerous to adults who catch it.

The average age of swine flu patients is 12, the average age for hospitalized patients is 20, and for people who died, it was 37. It seems to be deadliest to people 65 and older, with deaths in more than 2 percent of elderly people infected, Finelli said.

Also at the meeting, CDC officials made projections about flu vaccines expected to be available to protect against both seasonal and swine flu this fall.

More than 25 million doses of seasonal flu vaccine should be available by early September, CDC officials and vaccine manufacturers said.

The same five manufacturers that make the seasonal vaccine are producing swine flu vaccine as well. As many as 60 million doses of vaccine to protect against the new virus could be ready by September, said Robin Robinson, an official with the federal agency that oversees vaccine manufacture and distribution. That prediction seemed a bit optimistic, others at the meeting said.

The vaccinations might be given as two shots, spaced 21 days apart. But the vaccine has to be tested before it’s made available to the public.

GENEVA – The World Health Organization held an emergency swine flu meeting Thursday and was likely to declare the first flu pandemic in 41 years as infections climbed in the United States, Europe, Australia, South America and elsewhere.

Health officials from Scotland, Indonesia and Thailand said the agency would declare a swine flu pandemic — a global epidemic — on Thursday after a teleconference with leading flu experts. Officials at U.N. missions in Geneva also said they expected the imminent announcement of a pandemic.

WHO spokesman Thomas Abraham said only that the emergency meeting began at noon in Geneva and WHO member nations would be informed of the result. WHO Director-General Margaret Chan was holding a press conference at 6 p.m. (1600 GMT, noon EDT).

“It is likely in light of sustained community transmission in countries outside of North America — most notably in Australia — that level 6 will be declared,” Scotland’s Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon told Scottish lawmakers, adding it would be Thursday.

Indonesian health minister Siti Fadilah Supari said she had been notified by WHO that “today will be declared to be phase 6.”

Phase 6 is WHO’s highest alert level and means that a swine flu pandemic is under way. The last pandemic — the Hong Kong flu of 1968 — killed about 1 million people. Ordinary flu kills about 250,000 to 500,000 people each year.

Since the new flu strain — dubbed A(H1N1) — first emerged in Mexico and the United States in April, it has spread to 74 countries around the globe. On Wednesday, WHO reported 27,737 cases including 141 deaths. The agency has stressed that most cases are mild and require no treatment, but the fear is that a rash of new infections could overwhelm hospitals and health authorities — especially in poorer countries.

The long-awaited pandemic announcement is scientific confirmation that a new flu virus has emerged and is quickly circling the globe. It will trigger drugmakers to speed up production of a swine flu vaccine and prompt governments to devote more money to containing the virus.

In May, several countries urged WHO not to declare a pandemic, fearing it would spark mass panic.

Fear has already gripped Argentina, where so many people worried about swine flu flooded into hospitals this week that emergency health services in the capital have collapsed. Last month, a bus arriving in Argentina from Chile was stoned by people who thought a passenger on it had swine flu. Chile has the most swine flu cases in South America.

In Hong Kong, the government on Thursday ordered all kindergartens and primary schools closed for two weeks after a dozen students tested positive for swine flu.

In Australia, swine flu cases jumped to more than 1,000 on Monday and reached 1,260 by late Wednesday.

WHO says its pandemic announcement would not mean the situation was worsening, since no mutations have been detected in the virus to show it is getting more deadly.

In Edinburgh, Sturgeon told lawmakers that a WHO announcement means countries should immediately activate their pandemic plans.

“A move to level 6 is not a verdict on the severity of the virus,” she said. “It simply means that the extent of global spread now fulfills the definition of a pandemic.”

The confirmed case count and death toll for swine flu continues to increase around the world. The online Pandemic Flu forums are full of stories about deaths of victims who had every symptom of swine flu but conveniently were never tested. The swine flu trend is following the 1918 Spanish Flu outbreak. If this remains the case, there is a very good possibility that we will have a deadly outbreak this fall. I am not trying to scare people, but the time to prepare is now, while prices are not hugely inflated and items are still available.

Go back and look at our Pandemic Flu Treatment and Prevention article. This is as economical a plan as you will find. Some of the items cost a bit more, such as Oil of Oregano, but bleach is important and pretty cheap. Stock up on supplies now. The peace of mind alone will be worth it!

This article on Yahoo just serves as another reminder:

UK’s attempts to stop swine flu called flawed

By Maria Cheng, AP Medical Writer

Flu experts are looking very closely at Britain — and some have decided that the U.K.’s swine flu-fighting tactics are seriously off the mark and may be hiding a much larger outbreak.

Since Britain has the most confirmed swine flu cases in Europe, how the outbreak develops here will have a significant influence on whether the World Health Organization decides to raise its flu alert to the highest level — a pandemic, or global epidemic.

British authorities have relied on an aggressive strategy to try to snuff out the virus before it spreads, blanketing suspect cases and anyone connected to them with the antiviral medication Tamiflu.

But experts criticize the strategy for wasting valuable medicine and say there’s little point trying to contain swine flu, which the WHO says is at least as infectious as regular flu.

“Containment using Tamiflu is a flawed concept,” said Michael Osterholm, a flu expert at the University of Minnesota. “It’s like trying to maintain the integrity of your submarine with screen doors.”

Osterholm, who has advised U.S. authorities on preparing for a pandemic, said the swine flu virus travels too fast to stop it with Tamiflu.

“You are never going to contain a flu virus with this strategy and at the end of it all, you will have wasted time and drugs,” he said, because it takes much more Tamiflu to prevent a case than it does to treat one.

Similar strategies were initially tried in the U.S, Canada and Japan but authorities quickly dumped the tactic. Japanese officials had hoped to contain their outbreak, but now say they probably can’t, as confirmed cases soared from four to more than 260 in just a week.

Authorities in Mexico never even tried to contain the virus, it was too widespread before they realized what it was.

Swine flu has sickened more than 11,000 people in 41 countries and killed 85, according to WHO, whose figures often trail those of individual countries. Mexico has reported 75 swine flu deaths, the United States 10, and there has been one death each in Canada and Costa Rica.

British health officials have confirmed 112 swine flu cases — the most in Europe, ahead of Spain, which raised its total to 111 on Thursday. Still, that number has raised eyebrows among experts for being suspiciously low, given swine flu’s infectiousness and its rapid spread elsewhere.

Rumors have swirled among health officials for weeks that Britain’s caseload is far higher than officials are admitting.

“It’s odd that we haven’t seen more cases in Britain after the initial burst of cases,” said Andrew Pekosz, a flu expert at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Osterholm called Britain’s official numbers “meaningless” and said while authorities were not hiding cases, they also weren’t looking very hard for the virus.

“The numbers in Britain are really not telling the story,” Osterholm said.

Swine flu was first detected in Britain last month. Experts say flu viruses only need a couple of weeks to become established in a new location.

Albert Osterhaus, a virologist at Erasmus MC University in the Netherlands, said once the virus has been circulating, it’s time to abandon the containment strategy and save Tamiflu for patients.

Experts said Britain’s attempt to squash swine flu might also be masking the true size of the outbreak. Antivirals like Tamiflu work by reducing the amount of virus in a person’s body, so people who have swine flu and are taking Tamiflu might test negative for the virus.

“Using Tamiflu to contain a virus may nip (an outbreak) in the bud … but you might also pick up fewer cases,” said Osterhaus.

Still, Britain’s Health Protection Agency defended its methods.

“We are still in the early phases of the swine flu outbreak,” a spokesman said, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with official government policy. “We believe containment is still an effective strategy but we will certainly reconsider it if swine flu spreads.”

Pekosz said the low numbers of confirmed cases in Britain could also be due to limited testing.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is testing up to 400 specimens a day. But the British health agency has refused to say how many tests are being done daily. The U.K. is also only testing people with a history of visiting infected countries like Mexico or the United States, or people with links to already-established cases. That limited criteria means authorities could be missing lots of other cases if the virus has already spread into communities.

“There’s no reason to think this virus would behave differently in Europe than in North America,” Pekosz said. “The numbers in the U.S. and Mexico suggest that once you have a certain number of cases, you can seed a relatively wide outbreak.”

For its part, Spain is taking much the same tactic as Britain. Health authorities have started announcing new swine flu cases only once a week and are handing out antiviral drugs to both confirmed and suspected cases.

Countries outside of North America may be reluctant to admit they have a bigger outbreak on their hands, since that could prompt WHO to declare a pandemic.

Many governments fear that announcing a pandemic would produce mass panic and confusion, with citizens clamoring for measures — including vaccines, antiviral medications, trade restrictions and travel bans — that could be costly or even ineffective.

On Monday, British Health Secretary Alan Johnson urged WHO to raise its standards for determining a pandemic.

For now, British authorities say they are still trying to contain swine flu with Tamiflu and have no plans to change who they test.

Experts remained skeptical.

“If there really are that few cases in Europe, we should all be sending teams there to find out what is going on,” Osterholm said.

I want our readers to hold my feet to the fire on what I am about to suggest. Remember it, come back and check the facts in a few weeks. I maintain that the main stream press has and is being incredibly irresponsible regarding their coverage of the swine flu situation. First, they over hyped and engaged in fear mongering. Now they are out right lying to lull the public into a false sense of security, therefore making it harder for people to feel a need to be prepared.

Screaming headlines about a devastating world wide pandemic put many people on edge for days. There is a real chance this virus will fizzle, and if not, and this is a virus that comes in waves, as is common, then unless there is a fast mutation, this first wave will be light. Over reaction will bring needless fear and also will damage our economy more than is called for by the situation. Under-reaction by false reporting will bring about the eventual loss of life, because the time will come, perhaps this fall, perhaps in a few more years, when we will have the prophesied plagues hit the world. Inaction because of what I call, “the boy who cried wolf syndrome” is being insured by the way the media is handling this crisis.

I have read a few reports by doctors in Mexico who are very upset that the numbers have been lied about for political and economic reasons. All these reports are in agreement that there have been many more deaths and cases contracted than is being reported by their health ministry. Now, suddenly, we are supposed to be stupid enough to believe there have only been 7 deaths instead of 159. Do not be fooled. There is a glaring problem with their numbers. They are not testing those other deaths for swine flu because they do not want to report them as official. Most people coming to hospitals in Mexico City are now being turned away and they are testing few patients for the disease, thereby, managing their numbers for world consumption. Tourism is their third largest industry and they are desperate to calm fears to stem some of the damage to that industry.

Mexico is not alone in their irresponsibility. Michael Bloomberg, mayor of New York City, reported yesterday that many hundreds of school children are sick with swine flu symptoms in his city. Almost none of these people are being tested for the flu, which is incredibly irresponsible. Three schools are shut down. I have read reports from people in many states who say they are being told of probable local cases, but these are not making the national news. Why? My guess is that there are three reasons. I will give only two here. First, tonight is President Obama’s address to the nation to celebrate his first 100 days in office. Yesterday there was a drastic drop off in coverage of the outbreak, and a major manipulation in the numbers game began. Nothing must distract from the glory of our beneficent leader tonight.

I believe the second reason to be so that the World Health Organization can give a little more time for the financial community to get their house in order before allowing the public to know how wide spread this is or could become. The reason the obvious human to human spread in the United States was ignored was because when verified, the WHO had to raise the alert level which is supposed to automatically put precautions in place that could hurt the economy. With the SARS outbreak, they did this and it did tremendous damage to the economies of China and Canada. This is an understandable concern but now after all the hype, then the strange switch to down playing things, there is now general apathy. Even though they just changed to the level five, most people have decided this is a non-event. If the WHO does not want to put the automatic responses in place since this is so far such a mild outbreak, then they should change their standards, but do not lie to the public to justify their actions.

The truth of the matter is this; we hope this fizzles but just in case…knowledge is power, and if ye are prepared ye shall not fear. I have no fear regarding this situation because I spent the time to educate myself on the subject and put together a pandemic treatment program that can be found above under Notable Notes. So far, this virus is presenting in a similar manner (albeit milder) to Avian Flu. The treatment would be effective for either. My family is ready so we are completely calm.

It is very important to let you know that there is a chance this will turn ugly in the fall. In the 1918 Pandemic, the first wave in the spring was very mild and few took notice. In September the second wave hit and killed millions and stunned the world. The similar symptoms, age group effected, and pattern are eerily similar so it would be more than foolish to dismiss this.

We hope, we pray, but we do not say, “if God wants me to die, I’ll die but I won’t worry about it”. Fine, do not worry, good. But do a little research because God helps those who help themselves and if you have a child that could have grown up to do something wonderful but they die because you stubbornly refuse to prepare, then you may regret your inaction. If not this fall, then some day you will thank the Lord that you used wisdom.

Mike Leavitt told the public when he was head of the Department of Health and Human Services, that a severe pandemic would overwhelm health care and people would be forced to treat themselves at home. The government would not be able to save them. Our nanny state is unable to handle the scenario and Leavitt was completely up front about this. Take personal responsibility. When this dies out, do not smirk and say, “I told you so”. Assume a second wave will come this fall and get ready. You buy insurance just in case. This is a surer bet because the scriptures are clear on this subject, we simply do not know the timing. Complacency and ignorance kill.

Only 7 swine flu deaths, not 152, says WHO

A member of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has dismissed claims that more than 150 people have died from swine flu, saying it has officially recorded only seven deaths around the world.

Vivienne Allan, from WHO’s patient safety program, said the body had confirmed that worldwide there had been just seven deaths – all in Mexico – and 79 confirmed cases of the disease.

“Unfortunately that [150-plus deaths] is incorrect information and it does happen, but that’s not information that’s come from the World Health Organisation,” Ms Allan told ABC Radio today.

“That figure is not a figure that’s come from the World Health Organisation and, I repeat, the death toll is seven and they are all from Mexico.”

Ms Allan said WHO had confirmed 40 cases of swine flu in the Americas, 26 in Mexico, six in Canada, two in Spain, two in Britain and three in New Zealand.

Ms Allan said it was difficult to measure how fast the virus was spreading.

She said a real concern would be if the flu virus manifested in a country where a person had had no contact with Mexico, and authorities were watching all countries for signs of that.

“There is no pattern that has emerged at this stage to be able to say that it is spreading in a particular way or it is spreading into a particular country … the situation is continuing to evolve,” she said.

This amazing video that Peter Anderson sent me with Glenn Beck and Peter Schiff is from October, but couldn’t be more pertinent. Inflation is a coming threat. Right now we have deflation. Part of the reason for that is because there is a glut of goods and not many buyers. Once the glut is gone, we will have a jolt of reality hit.

Until this week I have been hesitant lately to continue to blog on the dire financial situation because we are being told that we hit bottom and things will now get better. Then I remembered that one year ago at this exact same time I had the same predicament. I wanted to give my readers a break and allow the false hope to cheer everyone up. Finally, I decided that since all the economic indicators shows just the opposite of what we were being told, I could no longer stay silent.

It is my duty as a citizen, to warn others to be prepared and do what they can to protect their families. I looked like a fear mongerer a year ago, but by fall, my predictions looked mild. I will do the same now. By October, I predict that everyone will know that we are not on the way back up. Believe me, living by Las Vegas, I heartily wish it were otherwise. It isn’t.

Spotlight from Townhall

March 31, 2009

Lee Bellinger, Publisher of Independent Living

Dear Fellow Concerned American:

This briefing is a critical, time-sensitive warning. Please read what I am about to say carefully, because your very life may depend on it.

A whole lot of already shell-shocked people are going to learn the hard way that the veneer of “civilization” is far thinner than most realize.

U.S. Preparing a Military Response
to Coming Social Chaos

As the shocking confidential information contained in this briefing shows, the threat of social meltdown and chaos is so large a domestic law-enforcement arm of the U.S. military (referred to by The Army Times as the “Consequence Management Response Force”) has been created to deal with what U.S. officials believe to be a coming, unprecedented wave of massive social chaos.

Later I’ll show you why many Washington insiders (including officials directly involved in homeland security) are personally making emergency preparations for social chaos. In addition, outgoing Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson told Sen. James Inhofe and Rep. Brad Sherman that so much financial mayhem lies ahead U.S. troops may have to impose martial law to deal with social unrest.

Yes, U.S. Officials Are Quietly Preparing
for BIG Trouble Ahead

A new report by the Army War College’s Strategic Studies Institute states flatly the U.S. military must prepare for “a violent, strategic dislocation inside the United States” that could be provoked by “unforeseen economic collapse” or “loss of functioning political and legal order.”

Late last year, The Washington Post noted the incoming Obama Administration is going to “earmark” at least 20,000 troops returning from Iraq to deal with “domestic emergencies.” Since then, the Army Times has broken the story that the domestic emergency army unit has been increased to 80,000 troops, who are being trained right now in Georgia.

In short, U.S. officials expect big trouble ahead — but they are not warning the general public about the danger (much less urge the unsuspecting masses to make basic preparations).

The Washington Elite Are Quietly
Making Themselves More Self-Reliant

Now I want to share an important personal insight with you that will probably never make the news. You see, I belong to two Washington, D.C. membership organizations which date back to the 1800s — with members that include a smattering of cabinet officials, members of Congress, mid-level federal managers and many, many, retired former insiders.

This is how I first learned that many top-level Washington insiders — many of whom have been directly involved in developing the Homeland Security Department, do not have confidence in government preparations for social chaos.

I know this for a fact, not just because of my conversations with club members. I am also an acquaintance with a private contractor who has a booming specialty business which does nothing but work in posh DC neighborhoods, installing emergency back-up generators, freezers for food, and safes (Even a quick review of the DC yellow pages suggests that installing emergency generators and other survival precautions has become a prospering cottage industry in the Washington area.)

As one of my very best Hillsdale College professors would have mused: “What would lead so many influential Washington insiders (who are in a position to know) to seek out ways to become so much more self-reliant than the average citizen?”
