4 Marines die in Afghanistan; 870 inmates escape
By NOOR KHAN and JASON STRAZIUSO, Associated Press Writers 1 hour, 31 minutes ago
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - About 870 prisoners escaped during a Taliban bomb and rocket attack on the main prison in southern Afghanistan that knocked down the front gate and demolished a prison floor, Afghan officials said Saturday. And in western Afghanistan on Saturday, a roadside bomb exploded near a U.S. military vehicle, killing four Americans in the deadliest attack against U.S. troops in the country this year, officials said.
The bomb in the western province of Farah targeted Marines helping to train Afghanistan’s fledgling police force, said U.S. spokesman Lt. Col. David Johnson. One other Marine was wounded in the attack.
Marines from the 2nd Battalion, 7th Regiment based in Twentynine Palms, California, arrived in Afghanistan earlier this year and were sent to southern and western Afghanistan to train police.
The bombing comes one day after U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates told his counterparts in Europe that for the first time, the monthly total of American and allied combat deaths in Afghanistan exceeded the toll in Iraq during May.

Plan Would Lift Saudi Oil Output
Saudi Arabia, the world’s biggest oil exporter, is planning to increase its output next month by about a half-million barrels a day, according to analysts and oil traders who have been briefed by Saudi officials.
The increase could bring Saudi output to a production level of 10 million barrels a day, which, if sustained, would be the kingdom’s highest ever. The move was seen as a sign that the Saudis are becoming increasingly nervous about both the political and economic effect of high oil prices. In recent weeks, soaring fuel costs have incited demonstrations and protests from Italy to Indonesia.
Saudi Arabia is currently pumping 9.45 million barrels a day, which is an increase of about 300,000 barrels from last month.
While they are reaping record profits, the Saudis are concerned that today’s record prices might eventually damp economic growth and lead to lower oil demand, as is already happening in the United States and other developed countries. The current prices are also making alternative fuels more viable, threatening the long-term prospects of the oil-based economy.
President Bush visited Saudi Arabia twice this year, pleading with King Abdullah to step up production. While the Saudis resisted the calls then, arguing that the markets were well supplied, they seem to have since concluded that they needed to disrupt the momentum that has been building in commodity markets, sending prices higher.

ZION, Ill. (AP) — A school bus driver and amateur artist from the Chicago suburb of Zion has legally changed his name to “In God We Trust.”
A Lake County circuit court judge approved Steve Kreuscher’s name change petition on Friday.
The 57-year-old’s first name was changed to “In God,” while his last name was changed to “We Trust.”
He says the new name symbolizes the help God gave him during tough times and says he can’t wait to begin signing his artwork with the new moniker.

33 Senators Voted Against English as America’s Official Language on June 6, 2007.
On Wed. 6 June 2007, Colonel Harry Riley, USA, Ret. wrote:
Senators:
Your vote against an amendment to the immigration Bill 1348…. to make English Americ a’s official language is astounding.
On D-Day, no less, when we honor those that sacrificed in order to secure the bedrock, character and principles
of America, I can only surmise your vote reflects a loyalty to illegal aliens.
I don’t much care where you come from. What your religion is. Whether you’re black, white, or some other color…male or female…… Democrat, Republican or Independent. …… But I do care when you are a United States Senator representing Citizens of America …and Vote against English as the official language of the United States .
Your vote reflects Betrayal and Political Surrender. Violates Your Pledge of Allegiance. Dishonors historical principle. Rejects Patriotism. Borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion, makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senator…impeachment… Recall…… ..Or other appropriate action is warranted, or worse.
Four of you voting against English as America’s Official Language are Presidential Candidates:Senator Biden, Senator Clinton, Senator Dodd and Senator Obama.
Four Senators vying to lead America, but won’t, or don’t, have the courage to cast a vote in favor of English as America’s Official Language when 91% of American Citizens want English officially designated as our language.
This is the second time in the last several months this list of Senators have disg raced themselves as ‘political Hacks’….. Unworthy as Senators and certainly unqualified to serve as President of the United States
If America is as angry as I am, you will realize a backlash so stunning it will literally ‘rock you out of your socks’…… … And preferably totally out of the United States Senate.
The entire immigration bill is a farce… Your action only confirms this really isn’t about America.. it is about self-serving politics…. ..despicable at best. It has been said: ‘Never Argue with an Idiot….They’ ll drag you down to their level!’

Male priests marry in Anglican church’s first gay ‘wedding’
An Anglican church has held a homosexual “wedding” for the first time in a move that will deepen the rift between liberals and traditionalists, The Sunday Telegraph can disclose.
Two male priests exchanged vows and rings in a ceremony that was conducted using one of the church’s most traditional wedding rites – a decision seen as blasphemous by conservatives.
The ceremony broke Church of England guidelines and was carried out last month in defiance of the Bishop of London, in whose diocese it took place. News of the “wedding” emerged days before a crucial summit of the Anglican Church’s conservative bishops and archbishops, who are threatening to split the worldwide Church over the issue of homosexual clergy.
Although some liberal clergy have carried out “blessing ceremonies” for homosexual couples in the past, this is the first time a vicar has performed a “wedding ceremony”, using a traditional marriage liturgy, with readings, hymns and a Eucharist.

There is no truth. What is true for you may not be true for me.
I am in a homosexual marriage. I am a lesbian trapped in a man’s body, married to a gay man trapped in a woman’s body.
