God Bless You, Moses!

Maybe it is because in my mind this man is almost Moses. Or maybe it is because he fought so hard for our second amendment rights. He wasn’t so bad in Ben Hur either. Whatever the reason, I want to share this tribute by the family of Charlton Heston and spend a little time reflecting on his life and imagining the wonderful reception awaiting this good man in a far better place.

The Heston family issued the following statement:
“To his loving friends, colleagues and fans, we appreciate your heartfelt prayers and support. Charlton Heston was seen by the world as larger than life. He was known for his chiseled jaw, broad shoulders and resonating voice, and, of course, for the roles he played. Indeed, he committed himself to every role with passion, and pursued every cause with unmatched enthusiasm and integrity.
We knew him as an adoring husband, a kind and devoted father, and a gentle grandfather, with an infectious sense of humor. He served these far greater roles with tremendous faith, courage and dignity. He loved deeply, and he was deeply loved.
No one could ask for a fuller life than his. No man could have given more to his family, to his profession, and to his country. In his own words, “I have lived such a wonderful life! I’ve lived enough for two people.”

I never new anything about this man before this besides his role in Ben Hur. They don’t teach about nice things in school.

He was a great Moses but I liked him even better in Ben Hur. He was a great man.

My wife has always had a crush on this man. She always says I remind her of him but I think she is the only one in the world who thinks that and that it is really wishful thinking.

And so humble too.
I’m glad this tribute was put up. I admire Charleston Heston a lot and I am also sure that he is getting a very good reception in Heaven.

Charlton Heston is up there with John Wayne as far as I’m concerned. He fought hard for gun rights and didn’t care what anyone in liberal Hollywood said. He was a great family man and I will miss him. It’s good to mourn him together.

I love Charlton Heston. He is so manly and an amazing actor. My favorite part of any of his movies is when Jesus gives him water in Ben Hur. I love that movie. The next time I go home I am going to watch it again. Wow am I going to miss this incredible man.

I will miss him to. Charlton is almost as great as Fred Thompson. Seriously though I loved everything he did. He was a better actor than most of his contemporaries. It is great to read about what a good husband and father he was.
I haven’t seen Ben Hur since I was young. I need to rent that and watch it. We have The Ten Commandments recorded so I will have to watch it and cry. Goodbye Charlton.
