Happy Easter
Posted by Roy Bischoff under: General .
Week’s First Day
This virgin chamber
like rock-hollowed stable
is a briefly borrowed room.
The table chiseled to lay
linen-wrapped dead today
becomes a birthing bed.
Earth travails. A shudder
breaks sealed silence
of womb-dark tomb.
Like lightning attending angels
split death’s gloom to witness
this resurrection morn–
the cavern’s mouth is opened.
The triumphant King is born!
Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepuchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie. And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. (John 20: 6-7)

Sharon, this is incredible. I love the whole womb-tomb idea. I didn’t know we had such talent among us.
Happy Easter everybody.

That’s so cool that this poem was in BYU Studies. I’m not surprised though, it’s great.

Ghost, yes we are very proud of our friend Sharon. She often has poems in the Ensign also. In fact last month she had a poem in the Ensign.
As you can tell, today we are focusing on Easter and not politics. Happy Easter All.

Very nice poem. I think it is so great that you are focusing on Easter today instead of depressing worldly things. Good job.

Me to Sharon. Very neat poem. The whole thing comparing it to his birth is so cool. They were both in a cave so that is so symbolic.
