Stand Still So We Can Hit You

Once again we see this strange attitude that started with the Korean and Vietnam wars. Equal, measured warfare that does not deter the enemy and simply drags out endlessly. In the following article we see criticism of Israel for not allowing Hamas to launch a few rockets. How terrible of Israel not to be willing to let a few of their people die and a large city be terrorized (sarcasm intentional). And if they do respond, they should only respond in equal measure so that Hamas feels no compulsion to stop their fun. Where is the logic in the U.N. to make these kinds of statements?
The U.N. is criticizing the blockade, which is a peaceful means of addressing the illegal occupation of Gaza by the terrorists. Would they rather Israel use military means? No, sadly I believe that what they really want is for Israel to disappear completely. For many years now they have shown a prejudice against the state of Israel so we want to keep the eye of logic trained on their insipid statements.

A senior U.N. official warned the dire conditions outlined in the report would be worsened by any escalation of Israeli military action in response to indiscriminate rocket attacks from Gaza.
“It would be devastating,” John Ging, director of United Nations Relief and Works Agency in Gaza, told Reuters by telephone.
“It’s grossly disproportional,” Geoffry Binder, an expert on international humanitarian law in London, told Reuters.
“What we’re dealing with here is a few rockets coming from presumably one small corner of Gaza. And the response is the blockade and the destruction of hundreds of lives and the impoverishment of the whole area.”

kind of reminds me of WWI. Both armies entrenched and just lobbed stuff back and forth. But there were a lot more deaths. Still, no real movement, nothing accomplished but death. I prefer the strong deterrent. It’s the only way Israel can survive.

I feel sorry for the Israelis. Can you imagine what it would be like to be surrounded by cultures who want you dead? And when you try to defend your people with such overwhelming odds you get criticized. Crazy.

I agree with ya Papa Bischoff! This whole situation is absolutely insane….and considering the many other insane situations being brought forward lately I am sadly considering making it a part of my daily routine.
