World Socialism

In case there are some who believe this is another conspiracy theory, I took the following information from Barack Obama’s website. If one sticks strictly with definitions, this bill would be the official introduction of world socialism.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Barack Obama (D-IL), Chuck Hagel (R-NE) and Maria Cantwell (D-WA) have introduced the Global Poverty Act (S.2433), which requires the President to develop and implement a comprehensive policy to cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 through aid, trade, debt relief, and coordination with the international community, businesses and NGOs. Representatives Adam Smith (D-WA) and Spencer Bachus (R-AL) sponsored the House version of the bill (H.R. 1302), which passed the House in September.
“Eliminating global poverty remains one of the greatest challenges we face, with billions of people around the world forced to live on just dollars a day,” said Senator Obama. “We can – and must – make it a priority of our foreign policy to commit to eliminating extreme poverty and ensuring every child has food, shelter, and clean drinking water. As we strive to rebuild America’s standing in the world, this legislation will not only commit to reducing global poverty, but will also demonstrate our promise and support to those in the developing world. Our commitment to the global economy has to extend beyond trade agreements that are more about increasing corporate profits than about helping workers and small farmers everywhere.”

Peter Anderson sent the information last week that alerted us to this problem found in Obama’s site but is not being discussed in the media. I wanted to put this information forward again and to encourage everyone to let your representatives know how you feel about it. This is what Peter sent me:
Cliff Kincaid disclosed today that a hugely expensive bill called the “Global Poverty Act,” sponsored by Democratic Senator Barack Obama was quickly passed by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday and could result in the imposition of a global tax on the United States. Kincaid said that the major media’s cover-up of the bill, which makes levels of U.S. foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations, demonstrates the media’s desire to see Senator Obama elected to the presidency.

What the heck? This is own Barack’s website and the MSM hasn’t said a word as far as I’ve heard.
What’s up with that? OK dumb question. It’s hard to believe any democrat could read about that act and not finally admit that their party has turned totally socialist.

If you feel the need to shock, talk about Stumpy’s Ass. Like hotter than Stumpy’s Ass, which is a reference, of course, to his donkey.
One common myth about the global warming debate is that their is no debate among scientists. There is Huge debate among scientist. Many scientist among the universities disagree with the assertion that man has anything to do with global warming. What is more, I believe MOST scientists among the universities don’t think it is a significant threat even if we are having something do do with it.
Meanwhile we are probably going to be supporting Africa with a tax on gasoline as one way to redistribute our wealth instead of helping to build the wealth of Africa. The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if the global warming thing could be a way to get us to inch toward socialism. That seems a little far fetched though.
