Allies in a Cause
Posted by Roy Bischoff under: Constitution in Peril; Judaeo-Christian Values Under Attack .
I should thank God everyday that I am married to Joy. She has been so supportive and inspiring to me. I am glad that she is branching out and inspiring others.
On a different note, I think that it is really important for us to learn to practice tolerance. We need to look at what people are trying to accomplish before we label them and withhold our support. I had a law professor that went to a conference to present a paper in support of the traditional family. He found that his best allies were not from Christian nations but were Muslim for whom the traditional family is very important. He formed an alliance of sorts with them for the purpose of protecting the traditional family.
I have seen many worthwhile things get defeated because they weren’t being done in just the right way or by the wrong people or what someone judged was the wrong time. I don’t think there is a better way to defeat something good than by saying we agree with it we just . . . That is how politicians weasel out of doing the right thing. We mustn’t be that way. We don’t have to agree with some person or group 100% to support them. We need to support that part in which we are in agreement. If we have an “all or nothing” attitude we end up with the nothing. I am not saying we compromise our values but if there is something good we support that good thing. Remember that if we do not support important freedoms for someone else, then we are ripe to lose those freedoms ourselves.
I want to thank all of you for the support you have shown us and more importantly, the ideas that we are all developing together. You feel like a warm fire on a cold night.

Roy
I wish everyone I know would read this. People judge so fast. Me and my friends probably make people think we stepped out of the sixties as flower children or something. People are always shocked to find out I am a conservative because I don’t fit the perfect little mold. I love God and have values. Maybe I’m not always perfect but I try. I think what I hate most in life is judgmentalness. I like best when you say if we have an all or nothing attitude we end up with nothing. Right on. Listen to the man everybody.

Pickles, sometimes I am probably guilty of that kind of thing. What Roy wrote does make me stop and think. Maybe I’m not too old to learn. Maybe we can learn something from liberals who think we are so uptight.

You get right to the heart of it Roy. Picking the group that would be hardest for us to see good in is really testing our resolve but you are right. And I guess this is why they call us the great satan because they are trying to keep values in place for their families. I need to remember that more. It doesn’t mean we like how they do it but come to think of it, I am judging all of them again because some are extreme. Okay point taken.

So what exactly do we do now? I read a lot over at ElectRomneyin2008. It looks like they are shutting down. Do we start working to get Mitt into office in 2012?

Saddened just read the mission statement and purposes on the side and read the articles at the top under the icon. We have more work to do than ever.

I have read those things and they were great but maybe I’m a little slow. I guess I need things spelled out for me. I’m not sure exactly what to do.

Look for news and trends that help expose the agenda to weaken the conservative party and share that with people here so we can be a voice to draw attention to the danger.

Study the principles of freedom so you really understand them then talk to people and show them that you are tolerant of their ideas but you really know what creates freedom.

Thanks for answering me. I can do those things.

We really must learn to practice tolerance for people. They say accept the sinner but not the sin. Are we living by that? Do we love our enemies? Maybe we have been a little hypocritical at times here, calling our political enemies names. We should be an example of loving them or they will never want to compromise with us or even listen to us.
Sometimes I think people are afraid that if they are nice to a liberal, or a Mormon for that matter, their friends will think they are soft on sin, or compromising their values. This is a very unChrist-like attitude. We have to change this trend and learn to love.

I received an email from my sister pointing out that I was violating my own blog guidelines. It’s easy to forget when in the heat of the moment. I amended my post and offered an apology. I am not above admitting that I make mistakes like anybody else!

I agree wholeheartedly with Roy. One of the most important things people need right now is tolerance. The last thing people want from their enemies is kindness and tolerance…it scares them.
Lets go out there and shock the world!

I like what Nalvy said, if we showed a lot more tolerance it would shock the world.
Some people are afraid to stand do whats right, because of what other people think. We all need to be leaders, so lets get out there and show people what we are made of! (in a nice way)

This is awesome. What better mission in life could anyone ask for? Breaking down cultural, religious, class and any other barriers that we come across. Surly this calling is worthy of Aristotle, Isaac Newton, George Washington, that bum you pass every day, or even… you. This is what this site is all about. It proclaims; Hear is a place where hate and intolerance trembles and injustice and corruption are judged. Its on our heads at this website to make a difference and tell the world love not hate is its lord and master. My God is the god of love. This is the key to his kingdom.

I liked the way you said that Bryon. You sound committed.
