Mitt in Minnesota

Posted by Terrie Soberg under: Constitution in Peril; Judaeo-Christian Values Under Attack; Presidential Election 2008 .

Last night Mitt Romney spoke in my home state of Minnesota in the city of Edina. The crowd was very enthusiastic and he gave an inspiring speech. I want to share a few of the highlights.

He addressed the loudly cheering crowd by saying, “Minnesota is warm this time of year.” Then he introduced his handsome son, Matt Romney, told about Matt’s four children and said how what we are doing is so important for the sake of our children and grandchildren. It is for that future that I am so concerned and why I started this blog.

Mitt told the crowd that after listening to the people at over a hundred town meetings, he realized that they knew that Washington had failed to keep its promises. He said it was time to get rid of the politicians and for the citizens to take over Washington. That statement went over big. He said he would fix Washington using the Republican and the true conservative way. Mitt warned us that we were becoming like Europe of old, big brother, big government, and big taxes. The sad thing is, the new Europe is slipping into becoming like the Europe of old.

Mitt talked about the new battle we are seeing for the heart and soul of the Republican Party. I was glad to see how clearly he understands this rampant division and the need to try and keep that from happening. He explained that this division had come down to a choice between him and John McCain. He went on to warn that McCain would pull our party sharply to the left. Mitt said he had a different course; he wants to “keep our party in the house that Ronald Reagan built”. That statement almost brought down the house.

This afternoon I am going to hear Ann Romney speak. I am very impressed with her intelligence and kind heart. We can all see the kind of person that she is, reflected in her children. It is this kind of strength that we need standing by the side of our next president.

I want to thank all of you for coming to this blog and supporting what we are trying to do and adding your voice. It is through unity that great things are accomplished. In our small way, we are a piece of the puzzle that will put back the complete picture of a free nation, under God. This will not be easy or quick because there are others who are united in the cause to bring socialism to this nation. People have their agency and can chose for themselves but we must not forget how important each of our voices are in swaying the debate. When joined together, we can move mountains. Together we will do all we can and trust God to do the rest.

Do not forget; that if the silent majority remains silent, they will be the majority no longer and silenced for good.

This is great, Terrie. Thanks and don’t forget to tell us about Ann Romney. She is so beautiful and sweet. The difference between her and the other spouses is as strong as Mitt and the other candidates.

I’m not watching the superbowl. I loved this and Ann. I am looking forward to hearing what you think of her Terrie.

The Zogby poll puts Romney 3% ahead of McCain in California. The others don’t, but Zogby is a more respected poll than most. So get out there and vote, please.

Our Mission Statement

Encourage people to learn about our Constitution and the freedoms it preserves and to have faith in the Judaeo-Christian principles upon which it is based so that when those freedoms are threatened action may be taken to protect them.

In support of our mission statement, here is our Three-Fold Purpose of the blog, In God We Trust.

1. Defining and spreading an understanding of our Constitutional freedoms for the purpose of sustaining those freedoms.

2. Identifying threats to the unity of the conservative base, and helping people to resist the pressure to compromise values as an answer to political tensions.

3. Spreading the message that the key for healing the nation is showing respect, tolerance and kindness as we accept the political differences of others.
