Our Awful Situation, Secret Combinations Above Us

Posted by Terrie Soberg under: Constitution in Peril; Presidential Election 2008; Rejecting Herd Mentality .

Hat-tip to Jesse !

Today Jesse emailed me a very well-done PDF file and asked me to post it for him. The presentation contains quotes by Founding Fathers including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, LDS Church leaders, well-known politicians, and scripture quotes discussing secret combinations in our day. The information contained in the slides is important for us to learn and know to that we can not only recognize our situation, but rise up and fight against it.

According to the following scripture, we must awake to a “sense of our awful situation:”

22 And whatsoever nation shall uphold such secret combinations, to get power and gain, until they shall spread over the nation, behold, they shall be destroyed; for the Lord will not suffer that the blood of his saints, which shall be shed by them, shall always cry unto him from the ground for vengeance upon them and yet he avenge them not.

23 Wherefore, O ye Gentiles, it is wisdom in God that these things should be shown unto you, that thereby ye may repent of your sins, and suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you, which are built up to get power and gain—and the work, yea, even the work of destruction come upon you, yea, even the sword of the justice of the Eternal God shall fall upon you, to your overthrow and destruction if ye shall suffer these things to be.

24 Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; or wo be unto it, because of the blood of them who have been slain; for they cry from the dust for vengeance upon it, and also upon those who built it up.

25 For it cometh to pass that whoso buildeth it up seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries; and it bringeth to pass the destruction of all people, for it is built up by the devil, who is the father of all lies; even that same liar who beguiled our first parents, yea, even that same liar who hath caused man to commit murder from the beginning; who hath hardened the hearts of men that they have murdered the prophets, and stoned them, and cast them out from the beginning.

I’m not Mormon so I hope you don’t mind I kind of rushed through quotes by Mormons but there are lots of others there that are incredible. Everyone should see this. Thanks.

This was kind of shocking. I’d heard some things like this but not so much or so convincing. It is going to take some time to digest all this. What I want to know is if John McCain is part of this power elite then how can we vote for him in November if he gets the GOP nomination? And one more question. Why do you think so many republicans are being fooled by him when it seems so incredibly obvious that he lies constantly? I really don’t get it.

This was great. It reminds me of what I heard Sean or someone on his show (can’t remember) say today. You can’t solve a problem until you recognize the problem. This is a wake up call. One I didn’t want but now that I have I can’t turn my back on it.

Ghost, that question about voting for McCain if he gets in is one I really don’t want to think about now. I want to put all my energy into supporting Mitt. We have to try and remain positive and get the message out. I think I have mentioned something about how I feel but I have decided just to focus for now on hope.

As far as your second question about why so many Republicans seem to be fooled, I have a theory on that. I believe that when people lose their values and turn away from the Lord, that they lose the ability to perceive truth. You could say they wander in mists of darkness and let go of the word of God. It is hard for us who can so clearly see what McVain is like but instead of getting angry at those people, I am trying to feel sorry for them and reach as many as I can. I don’t know if it will help but for our own sakes we have to try our best.

Joy - that creates a picture and one I can definitely understand. It isn’t very comforting though.

Joy I thought you weren’t going to go there. This was territory considered to extreme and right away we get this. Only radicals will relate to this stuff and it will offend anti-Mormons. I am sorry to keep doing this but it seems confusing to me.

This isn’t tackling 9/11 or the war or some of the other hot buttons but we are not going to close our eyes to what is finally coming out in the open. These are just the facts of the general movement toward socialism. People really are waking up. I hope you wake up too, Peter.

Peter I refer you back to my blog about Wisconsin Right To Live. I don’t think it was particularly well written. That is my fault. But it had some information in it. Most relevant to this blog is that McCain has co-created a piece of legislation (and aggressively prosecuted it even from the legislative branch) which is unconstitutional. Even the supreme court, in McCain v Wisconsin Right to Life, ruled an aspect of the law unconstitutional. This is very real stuff, and this man is running strong for president. (but let’s not get rid of Peter- he is a good devil’s advocate and that is very useful to us)

All I heard about is that McCain is pro-life and Romney flip-flopped on the issue. If Romney had done something like what McCain did in Wisconsin he would be out of the race because the press would have been on it like crazy. I always knew the press had a problem. I’ve listened to Rush with his drive by media quip for years but I have never seen anything like what they have done to Romney. The answer has to be that the word is out from corporate headquarters to ruin him. I don’t think that blog with the quotes was so specific that it would offend people away. If we want to do something about the attempt to destroy the Republican base, we have no choice but to understand where that attempt is stemming from. I don’t like it but I’m no coward once I see the truth. What Joy said has to be true. People are being blinded because we are seeing a clear distinction between candidates here.

Glad you don’t want to get rid of me Cavetollhead. Just call me Scully. I guess I’m stubborn about some things but I see it as keeping my feet firmly planted on the ground the way my Dad taught me.

And btw, I think Stumpy was just joking since he knows we all know that he is the biggest rascal around here.

Our Mission Statement

Encourage people to learn about our Constitution and the freedoms it preserves and to have faith in the Judaeo-Christian principles upon which it is based so that when those freedoms are threatened action may be taken to protect them.

In support of our mission statement, here is our Three-Fold Purpose of the blog, In God We Trust.

1. Defining and spreading an understanding of our Constitutional freedoms for the purpose of sustaining those freedoms.

2. Identifying threats to the unity of the conservative base, and helping people to resist the pressure to compromise values as an answer to political tensions.

3. Spreading the message that the key for healing the nation is showing respect, tolerance and kindness as we accept the political differences of others.
