I want to say something about the US Constitution. I want to say something about John McCain.

McCain led the charge in “Federal Election Commission v. Wisconsin Right to Life” also know as “McCain, et al., v. Wisconsin Right to Life” The US Supreme Court agreed to hear the case on Jan. 19, 2007 after a lower court ruled in favor of WRTL.

McCain signed on to and led the suit against the Right to Life. They had violated McCain-Feingold by running an advertisement urging the citizens to stop the filibuster of President George Bush’s Judicial nominees. “Contact Senators Feingold and Kohl and tell them to oppose the filibuster,” says the narrator. (Yes, that is the Feingold of McCain-Feingold.) They ran the ad too close to Feingold’s the November 2004 re-election. Therefore the FEC (Federal Election Committee) shut the ad down. The law prohibits Unions and cooperates such as WRTL from running advocacy ads against a specific candidate during the blackout period (30 days prior to an election.) However the intent of the ad had nothing to do with the re-election bid, only to stop the filibuster.

So how does this involve John McCain? He is not from Wisconsin and doesn’t represent its citizens in any way. He is no kind of a federal law enforcement agent. - he is in the legislative branch. So the only connections he had to the law suit were that he and Feingold had co-authored the law and that Feingold is his political ally. Feingold was being inconvenienced by the ad. McCain was under no obligation to pursue this law suit.

Fortunately for the Wisconsin Right to Life group, the US supreme court ruled against McCain and Feingold, because this aspect of the law is unconstitutional. But the significance of McCain’s self serving campaign against the WRTL can’t be lost this election cycle. Why did John McCain do it? Was it personal because he wrote the law? Was it out of loyalty to his political ally? It is difficult for me to imagine any justifiable reason for a US Senator to attempt to impose his will on the State of Wisconsin and the WRTL. As someone who claims to be pro-life, and being under no obligation to pursue the suit, why did he try to silence the Wisconsin Right to Life. The only explanation I can find is that he did it for political reasons. At any rate, I challenge his commitment to both the Constitution, and to life.

(I have taken the liberty to add to the Guest Blog, the following quote from Hannity and Colmes from this evening. It is very interesting in light of the info from Cavetrollhead:)

COLMES: I know you can go down the list of things where he’s worked with Feingold and he’s worked with Kennedy, and Sean will mention the Gang of 14, and all the stuff he’s done that doesn’t sit well with conservatives. But if you have a John McCain — and I don’t have a dog in that hunt. I’m a liberal Democrat. Who would he appoint to other courts? Not liberals. He’s pro-life. Go down the list of litmus test issues. I don’t understand. I’m scratching my head trying to figure out why the animosity, in some cases, toward a guy who is, in my view, a true conservative, John McCain.

I feel like I need to take a shower to get the slime off. I think the whole idea of not using labels and nasty names etc. is really being tested. If we can get by without calling McVain every name in the book then we will be better for it.

This doesn’t surprise me too much but it would explode in McCain’s face if the MSM would do its job. Since they won’t we have to. I’ll email it around but of course most of my contacts are Ron Paul supporters.

Can someone explain to me how I am suppose to believe that every report in the country is in on a conspiracy to stop Romney? They just hate him.

That is OK Jesse. This isn’t necessarily about Romney. It is for me personally, but I just want people to know about McCain. But edit the type-os first. I am sorry about the type-os.

Peter, this blog has nothing whatsoever to do with Romney.

I just want to point out that there are many sites out there to source this. I was already versed on the facts but I used this publication from a list of Supreme court case synopses from Northwestern University’s. I encourage you to read it yourself if you doubt the facts.

Don’t worry about Peter. From what I have read he has trouble seeing the bigger picture but maybe with time he will get the idea.

I stole this from the comments section at ElectRomney in 2008 from a woman named Helen. Don’t tell anyone but it was too good to pass up:

John McCain has been a part of Washington Corruption. He was one of the five Senates who involved in Savings & Loans scandal in later 80’s. It is also called “The Keating Five”.

In 1989, the Lincoln Savings and Loan Association of Irvine, CA, collapsed. Lincoln’s Chairman, Charles H. Keating Jr., was faulted for the thrift’s failure. Keating told the House Banking Committee that the FHLBB and its former chief Edwin J. Gray were pursuing a vendetta against him. Gray testified that several U.S. senators had approached him and requested that he ease off on the Lincoln investigation. It came out that these senators had been beneficiaries of 1.3 million in campaign contributions from Keating.

This allegation set off a series of investigations by the California government, the United States Department of Justice, and the Senate Ethics Committee. The Ethics committee’s investigation focused on five senators: Alan Cranston (D_CA), Dennis DeConnis (D-AZ), John Glenn (D_OH), John McCain (R_AZ) and Donald Riegle Jr.(D_MI), who became known as the Keating Five. After the investigation, the Committee recommended censure for Cranston and criticized the other four. Most of them did not seek for re-election, and John McCain is the only one who left in Senate. John McCain is a part of Washington Corruption. The country is in another Savings & Loans crisis, and how people could forget the Washington corruption that associated with John McCain. IF Republican Party votes for John McCain for the President of United State, we become the party of Washington Corruption.

Our Mission Statement

Encourage people to learn about our Constitution and the freedoms it preserves and to have faith in the Judaeo-Christian principles upon which it is based so that when those freedoms are threatened action may be taken to protect them.

In support of our mission statement, here is our Three-Fold Purpose of the blog, In God We Trust.

1. Defining and spreading an understanding of our Constitutional freedoms for the purpose of sustaining those freedoms.

2. Identifying threats to the unity of the conservative base, and helping people to resist the pressure to compromise values as an answer to political tensions.

3. Spreading the message that the key for healing the nation is showing respect, tolerance and kindness as we accept the political differences of others.
