Making a Difference Together

Tom Brokaw has declared in essence, that with the rise of John McCain, the Reagan Coalition has fractured. The reason we began this site in November was because we saw the liberal push to label conservatives as disunified. There was some evidence it was working and we wanted to expose that danger. Many of our friends are concerned about very real dangers to our country, but we have feared that the bottom line may have been missed; that if we conservatives shatter, we will be defeated.
The internet can be a force for good, especially in getting around the bias of the liberal media. It can also be a dangerous force for breaking our political unity into small separate tribes. This is because it is easy to find just the right sites for personal tastes and ideals. The result can be further polarization, mistrust, and fractioning within each party. To make the kind of difference that brings about change cannot happen unless people come together for general principles. The liberals know this and for this reason they are hyping a broken conservative party. The acrimonious infighting among the Democrats in this presidential race brings no word from the media as to the demise of their party.
The message we are attempting to engender and spread here at In God We Trust, is being tested right now. The issue of possible voter fraud could drive away some of our readers and polarize others. Here is where we learn whether or not our readers believe, along with us, if we can accept differences respectfully and still unify on what is crucial. We cannot do this for you, it is your decision whether this succeeds.
Can we accept Ron Paul supporters who love the Constitution because they differ on some issues? Are those issues more important than the fact that they want the same basic principles? Is our purpose above all else to save the Republican Party? Would we do anything necessary to save the party? No, I believe we understand that it is holding tight to the Constitution that is our first political goal.
Our greatest obstacle to what we are trying to accomplish here is two-fold. First, it is polarization on specific issues and candidates. That doesn’t mean we can’t have strong opinions, it means we allow others to have their own without ridicule. Second, we would have to overcome the natural man who feeds on emotionalism over logic. We must learn to be fired up by principles of logic rather than bitter rivalry that brings a satisfying rush of endorphins. Instead we can catch a different kind of rush by being inspired to save our Constitution.
Let’s be patient with each other and focus on spreading the basic principles of unity through kindness, not through capitulation to liberalism. Let’s get the word out to those Republicans willing to throw their vote solely on the fallacy that only McCain could beat Hillary. They don’t realize that they would permanently damage the Republican party. Once a hill is lost in a battle, the cost and effort to retake it are enormous. Separately, we cannot protect our ground, only together can we make a difference.

Fair enough. Matt and Jesse and whoever else agrees with them. I’ll let you believe that Florida screwed up. I will feel differently but that’s okay. I feel like I just got bawled out by my mother.

Hey Peter whos your daddy?
All right girl tell me where to sign up. I want to man the machine gun but I would just as soon not be right on top of the hill. Put Cammy there.

Are we supposed to calm down now or get fired up? No, I really agree with what you wrote, Joy.
Okay Peter, let’s shake hands on it.
Stumpy, you can’t be on the front lines. Your legs might get shot off.

Matt I think this means you and I should kiss and make up too.
I am thinking that Bloomberg will run and his message is going to be unification. But like what is in the blog here, conservatives will have to capitulate if they are going to unify. If they don’t then everyone will point at us and say we are the problem. It will be a lot of pressure. If Bloomberg doesn’t do it then McCain will.

Let’s turn all this testosterone to fighting McCain. I am fired up maybe more than ever. This shows how bad it is and how many distortions are out there. I am going to email a lot of these blogs around and talk to everyone I know. I am going to get online and comment on articles no matter how the liberals bash me. This is it. There is no more time to sit around and let other people do it.

Well said Joy. I am less depressed after reading this. I’ll stop my pity party now… onward and upward!

Sorry I missed your kiss, Realist. I had to get some work done. Smack back. I’m less depressed now to. I still think someone should go sleuthing in Florida but that’s just me.

Mark Levin just said Huckabee won’t get out the race because he wants to be VP. He will stay to take votes away from Mitt to make sure McCain is in and then he will get payback.

He is right on. I couldn’t believe what Edwards said today. He said he talked to Hillary and Barak and they both promised to end poverty and economic inequality. That is a perfect definition of socialism.

I’m not going to try and get along with a Ron Paul supporter. They are all wacko and there is nothing we have in common. This is a pipe dream.

Irritated - I just blogged above on my thoughts regarding your post.
