Sharing the Day
Posted by Joy Bischoff under: Presidential Election 2008 .
Send up a prayer for Governor Romney if you are backing his candidacy. We need to remember that fear is the opposite of faith and be positive about the day. If you are pulling for someone else, I guess you can still pray
.
Share your thoughts and reactions about the big race today. It helps to wait together. One last message to Floridians. Call your friends and relatives to make sure they get out to vote, no matter who they are voting for. This is America, thank goodness we have a choice. If anyone is open to last minute persuasion, however, remind them that in January before the election, Reagan was given little chance to win the primaries because few believed he could beat the democratic nominee, Jimmy Carter. He did by a landslide. Those who come to know Mitt Romney either love him, or are frightened by him because they sense his intelligence and determination and they know he will clean up Washington. That rattling you hear is the good ole boy system shaking in its boots. Go Mitt!

Look how far we’ve come. I’m an evangelical praying for a Mormon. There is hope for America.

Good point about fear, Joy. It is the opposite of faith. Florida, don’t vote for John McCain because he is scaring you into it. It is a lie that Mitt can’t beat Hillary. And it is no reason to vote for a man that has proven himself a liar and a serious flip-flopper. Something is very wrong when all of the major conservative opinion makers are showing McCain for what he is and so many Republicans are still not waking up. It is because of fear of losing in November but that makes no sense. Watch how Mitt has climbed in the polls as people get to know him. He can beat her. Don’t pick a liar.
GO MITT

No matter what candidate we support, let’s pray that what ever happens today in Florida will work for the good of the Nation!

It isn’t just the conservatives that have shown McCain for what he is. When the New York Times calls McCain a liar, you can know for sure he lied.
My parents told me that almost everyone they know are pulling for Romney. They are confused about the polls and strangely enough they are also worried about voter fraud. That seems far-fetched to me but apparently they learned some strange things about the 2000 election there.

Drudge reports that Independents are being allowed to vote and guess who they are voting for? Not good. We have to try to be positive and hope for the best though. Come on Florida, vote for hope, clean out Washington.
I am having a hard time concentrating at work today. Don’t tell my boss.

Thank you for your comment Jan. It brightens my day as a Mormon to know there are people like you. It always makes me so sad when people hate us no matter how nice we are to them. You give me hope for our country.

I have been having a hard time watching the lead-up to this primary. I don’t know if I am being overly critical, but each time I watch McCain give an answer to a question, he changes his voice to a very holier than thou, pious sounding, syrupy, whispery, condescending tone. Is it just me?
Also, his accusations that Romney said he wanted a timetable for withdrawing from Iraq last April… he quoted the word timetable, but did not quote the word “milestone”. Romney wanted timetables and milestones to be agreed upon by US and Iraqi leadership. What is wrong with that? That is a plan for VICTORY, not an exit strategy. Who, in their right mind, would not want milestones to be planned, worked for, measured, and achieved?
Would McCain rather our troops would go and take a hill and say, “Now what?” and a captain say, “Go take the next hill.” “Why?” “?” What’s wrong with an understandable, measurable plan with milestones? … sorry for the rant, but McCain is getting on my nerves!

Wow, fiery speech. You may want to tone down some of the adjectives but I wanted to highlight one sentence I especially liked. I haven’t heard it put this way and it should be. Romney camp take note:
“That is a plan for VICTORY, not an exit strategy.”

There is no doubt that McCain is a two-faced liar. Florida if you support a man like that you have to question what he would do as president. The man has no integrity. Rush Limbaugh suggested McCain may be getting Independents out to change parties and vote even though it is illegal. Wake up, McCain will not stick to his new flip-flops once he gets in office. He has proven himself a complete jerk.

There there. Dont get your pantys in a twist. Let me show you how its done son.
You folks there in Florida, your smart and savvy so you know that when you vote for Juan McCain that even if he had trouble finding the right pie-hole when talking about Romney, he would never do that with you. He loves you. Once you get him to the white house he will be so good and do whatever you want him to do and wont listen to none of his pals from Washington no more. He is such a sweet good man. Just look at his face whenever he talks to his “good friend” Mitt. What a likeable guy our good nice ole Juan is. Specially to his friends down south.

Iffer Says:

Hey Joy, instead of bringing a whip you should bring a gun… then maybe Stumpy will shut up…
I think its time to get these comments back on track…
If Mitt doesn’t win in Florida and McCain loses to Hillary all those people in Florida will be feeling pretty stupid and when the re-elections come around Mitt will win in a landslide. So sooner or later, preferably sooner, (but you never know with Florida) Mitt will be able to help put the country back together.
E.E. Says:
29 January 2008 at 1:21 pm.
I love what Rush just said about not supporting liberal McCain:
“If the country is going to go to hell, let it go to hell under a democrat. It took a Carter to give us a Reagan.”
I for one will not vote for McCain if he gets the nomination.

Cameron Says:

E.E. So far in the exit polls McCain is up by two points over Mitt. Intrade is going crazy. Numbers all over the board but not looking too good.
T. Fan Says:
29 January 2008 at 5:54 pm.
But there is good news Cameron (or should I say Cammy?
)
The older voters are going for McCain and they traditionally vote early. Those in the work force are more for Romney and they are just voting now. It isn’t hopeless.
If you are from Florida, there is now way to stress how important it is to defeat a man who will change our party. Call everyone you know and get them out to vote.
Joy Bischoff Says:

Mark Levin just pulled a fast one. He said he would quit tonight and never come back if McCain wins Florida. He went on for awhile, said he’d talked to his wife about it. Finally, he turned around and said that the libs won’t make him give up the microphone. He’s on one, ripping up the airwaves. He is a fighter.
Cameron Says:
29 January 2008 at 7:20 pm.
I wonder what Intrade knows that we don’t? The numbers have gotten a lot worse and according to the news the race is neck and neck. Weird. Maybe some of you are making me paranoid. Knock it off. I have enough to deal with with Grumpy Stumpy stalking me.
T. Fan Says:
29 January 2008 at 7:27 pm.
CNN is reporting that with 33% of the precincts in, it is McCain 34% to Mitt 32%.
Jan W. Says:
29 January 2008 at 7:29 pm.
Drudge report is showing Romney 34%, McCain 33.5%, so I hope they are right. Drudge is partial to Romney so I am worried he is taking the best numbers. I am nervous. Part of me just wants to go bury my head.
Roy Bischoff Says:
29 January 2008 at 7:31 pm.
What a nail biter. Fox has McCain 34 and Mitt 33. Votes in the south of Florida and they usually come in last. The south is thought to be stronger for Mitt. Don’t give up yet.
Jesse Says:
29 January 2008 at 7:34 pm.
This is insane. You’re right Cameron. Intrader has McCain 87% and Romney at 9%. For those who don’t know, it is kind of a political betting about who they think will win. Romney is right with him, this shouldn’t be this way. Intrader is known for being amazingly accurate. What’s the deal? Unless it is what Matt and I fear. Sorry to make you paranoid Cameron. Trying not to become too much that way myself.
Cameron Says:
29 January 2008 at 7:38 pm.
Looks like there are lots of us on at the same time. This is like the last few minutes in a tough football game. I am haunting a lot of sites right now and it all seems confusing. No one seems to know how this is going to turn out except people are freaked out by the Intrade numbers.
BTW, T. Fan, call me Cammy again and I’ll sick that old man on you. I don’t want to invoke his name, it might call him to us.
Stumpy Says:
29 January 2008 at 7:43 pm.
I aint deaf kid. Dont worry, no claws tonight. I bit em off.
Jesse Says:
29 January 2008 at 8:12 pm.
Intrade has Romney 51 to McCain 19. This isn’t percentage of vote, it is market betting. Cameron is right that they are usually accurate but they have wigged out completely today. I’ve never seen them do this and I don’t think they can be relied on this time. Usually they are a great indicator.
Since my candidate isn’t doing well I am following yours. The numbers are very different depending on where you look. What a night.
