Congratulations to Romney

No matter who you are supporting for president, it is a lesson is disconnect to watch how the press is breaking all the rules in their attempt to destroy Mitt Romney. Of course they hate Ron Paul because he is such a strict constitutionalist. It seems a lot stranger that they hate Romney who is more in line with some of the other conservative candidates. I believe their fear stems from that fact that his history shows he creates change in the face of great odds. If he can do for the country what he did for the Olympics and companies on the verge of bankruptcy, he could actually be a president who could be effective against the liberal agenda.
It has been amusing reading the MSM reports of Romney’s win in Michigan. Most are so absurd I do not want to even go there, but one comment that comes up a lot is interesting. They like to accuse Romney of spending more time in every state that has so far voted. They are correct…he is guilty as charged. What does it mean? He works far harder than anyone else in the race. Do we want a president who works from dawn to dusk with barely a break? Yes!

You talk about fairness but you never tell about Fred Thompson. He is the true conservative in this race but he’s being buried. The press is ignoring him. Why are you ignoring him?

The blog starts out, “no matter who you are supporting for president”. I don’t think she is trying to put Thompson down. The people behind this blog have said they are supporting Romney but they have also said that anyone who wants can write about their candidate. As long as things stay respectful, we should all be able to talk about who we like. So tell us about Fred.

Romney doesn’t just spend more time in the early states, the problem is that he spends more money. He is trying to buy the election and everyone knows it. Fred doesn’t act like his life will end if he doesn’t become president. He only wants to do it for the people, not himself. He is the nicest guy in the race. Fred is more like Reagan than anyone else running.

T. Fan, glad to have you here. If you look back through the blogs, you’ll see we mention Thompson more than once and appreciate his conservatism. First, I agree with you that the press is ignoring Thompson. They have taken different tactics with Romney and Thompson. Romney they attack, Thompson they ignored. They dislike both because they are so conservative and the liberal agenda is dedicated to moving the Republican Party to the left. They will manipulate anyone who gets in their way. Personally, if Mitt didn’t get the nomination, I would hope Thompson or Paul would take it.
Now, regarding your comment that Romney is trying to buy the election, I take great exception to that. The facts are, he is a master at organizing. His has built easily the best campaign organization in the race. He has raised huge amounts of money from every day people who believe in him. The press has stopped talking about all the money he is raising and is exaggerating the amount of his own that he is spending. Romney was not given his start by his father. He started from the ground up and built his multi-million dollar business by saving companies. We have something that needs to be saved…a nation…a constitution. We need someone who has shown they have done it, not to mention saving a floundering Olympics. In the past, the ability to raise money and build an organization was one of the things people looked at in a nominee because it showed he could run a country. Why has that changed?

Why is everyone buying into this socialist way of thinking? Why is someone who knows how to create jobs suddenly the bad guy? This is how they got the people to go for communism in Russia a hundred years ago. It doesn’t work. We need jobs.

Okay, so you’ve mentioned Thompson. I appreciate that but I still think it is better to have a guy like him want to be president instead of someone who wants it so bad.

T. Fan, I’m a Ron Paul supporter so I’m in the minority here but at least I know I’ll be treated respectfully. That is the whole point of this site so I can appreciate that. I don’t know of another Romney place where I would feel welcome. They want you to be welcome too. Breaking up the conservative base is a bad idea. We can support our guy and still respect people who support theirs. Personally I prefer a candidate who really wants to lead the country because he or she is passionate about the Constitution and wants to help the country. Ron is courageous in the face of a lot of hate and he has that passion but I see it in Romney too. Maybe a little of it is personal, idk, but I think a lot of it is genuine. So I don’t see it as so bad that he really wants to be president. It takes a lot of energy to fill that office especially if you really want change.

All right, we can agree to disagree but I just want to say one more thing. If Thompson takes S.C. I hope you have the guts to blog on that and congratulate him. Then I’ll know this is a fair blog and that you walk to walk.

I read back through a lot of your blogs and I got a question. How come you say people shouldn’t have to swallow every last thing the republicans say? You guys are telling how talk show hosts and others make you think you have to agree with everything on the platform or you are treated like an outsider. And now you go and say you will only support candidates who follow every part of the conservative platform. That is contradictory.

Stumpy, we do stand up for the right of every Republican to decide on various issues themselves while still considering themselves a good Republican. That is true. The difference is, with the nominees, we want to publicly support all those who want to adhere to a strict interpretation of the Constitution. If we reinvent the Constitution, we are throwing away freedom piece by piece. So, we can believe that there is some pollution that should be dealt with reasonably without become extreme about it and willing to ruin our economy to do it like so many liberals are willing to do. And we will still consider ourselves Republicans. But, we will not support McCain’s position on global warming that would drastically threaten our economy.
