I Am Afraid for America

I am very proud of Rush today. I do not always agree with Rush but he was very valiant in standing up for America being founded in a belief in God. He said he was incredibly disturbed by how Mitt Romney’s fabulous speech is being shredded. He said his producer has been going crazy with the phones because of the angry anti-Romney calls. One woman just called and said that the Romney campaign sent her answers to questions by quoting Mormonism and basically calling her a bigot. Having worked on the campaign, I know that anyone doing anything like that would be fired immediately. For someone to be so stupid as to answer this way, would mean they wanted to destroy Romney, and that simply is not going to happen.
Rush said Romney gave a brilliant analysis of what this country needs. He talked about the main stream media’s “attempt to destroy a good man on the basis of religion. It’s not the America I grew up in.” Rush is very concerned about what this says about the country for this kind of hatred to be so obvious. He believes that fear of what Romney said and stands for it what is driving the hatred and attacks on both sides of the spectrum. Liberals do not want anyone sincerely religious in power, and especially not a man who actually lives by his moral convictions. Many conservatives simply do not want anything positive to come from a Mormon in case it convinces people that Mormons are not evil. Again, this all comes back to the point we want to make on this blog; divisiveness is destroying our country. We must learn to find common points of understanding and stop infighting among ourselves, especially those of us who hold similar values.
